Sangare > CHO was an odd sub for me. I get that it allowed MGW central with CHO/Elanga out wide - I assume to get more crosses to Wood... but it just makes the midfield so much weaker on paper, and it was already a mismatch in formation. Everton had four across the middle against our three, and then we decided to go with a Yates/Mangala/MGW midfield three.

Of the options available he really should have considered Dominguez or... Kouyate. the wide-forwards we have don't support our midfield three, they didn't last season, and it's weaker now. We're not good enough to play three up front who are relatively poor in defensive.

Am still glad we haven't got him though, yes, even after today.

If we are talking about Wood then you need to give him balls he can use and not expect more out of him.

It was the right sub. Sangare was utterly dogshit and nothing was sticking in advanced areas.

I'm usally very positive but that was a hard watch I don't know why boly stayed on till half time that was a massive risk after that stretching block around the 30 min mark he could hardly move after I'm also not convinced murillo was moving right either he kept grabbing something.
Other than that I don't really know what to say I'm cold and have work in an hour so thanks forest 🤣

If you think that flat and dead atmosphere helped anything and you cannot see that it is a positive feedback loop then I don't know what to tell you.
You dont need to tell me anything, you clearly dont understand how support works, so anything you did tell me would be pointless.

It works like this, at every football club in the world:

The team show desire and effort, and the fans recipricate it, its pretty basic and been around since the 1860's

Well that was as bad as we could get I think tonight. Where has the fighting spirit and togetherness gone? We don't look a team at all. Not moving as a unit or supporting each other.

With Wood in the side we're basically down to 10 men. He's rarely in the correct place, doesn't read the game and gives stupid free kicks away by barging players. Then you've got Sangare who, might not be fit, but doesn't look like he gives a toss. He's not had 1 good game in a Forest shirt yet. Full backs didn't really get forward. Gibbs White nowhere near his best again. We were second to loose balls all night, slow to react, never read the game, crossing/set pieces awful again.

Everton weren't much better but obviously Dycheball's relentless putting the ball into the box at least puts a team under pressure and they got something to drop and Dwight McNeil managed to stay on his feet long enough to get a shot away. Seems every other team can put quality balls into the box and create chances, where as we continuously don't.

End of the day, they worked harder and outfought us. We should have had a penalty and maybe nicked a point but can't be relying on that.
I agree entirely on Wood. I’d rather play Osong from the academy. In fact:

1. Awoniyi and his wheelchair.
2. Elanga.
3. Murillo.
4. Osong.
5. Konate.
6. Yates.
7. Boly.
8. Turner.
9. Origi.
10. Wood.

A bitterly disappointing result and display on an equally bitterly cold afternoon by the Trent.
I’m afraid only the magnificent Murillo came out with much credit as we were beaten by an
ordinary Everton side that showed more desire than than a Forest team who haven’t cottoned
on that we are in a relegation struggle.
I won’t analyse too deeply-but most people with any knowledge of football can see that the
idea of starting Chris Wood is a busted flush.
Let’s hope we improve at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Chris Wood will score goals if you give him quality service from out wide. There was an Athletic article which showed he's absolutely elite at converting chances.

What he's not going to do is conjure up something from 50 yard balls from Boly to him whilst he's isolated.

Wood isn't the problem. The tactics (or lack of them) are the problem.

Why does Wood get so much shit when we literally never play to his strengths?

Why does Mangala pass it backwards at every opportunity?

Why does MGW constantly lose the ball?

Why dont the wide men move forward faster when we have the ball?

Why is evetythong we do too slow and pedestrian?

Why dont we clear the back line quick enough?

Chris Wood is the least of our our problems right now.

I don’t agree-Wood is not of Premier League standard.

And he's been distinctly average since we bought him although he came straight into the team and has a pretty much nailed on spot even when he's been half injured. 1. It didn't even feel like he wanted to come 2. Is the dutch league a good place to judge a players ability to be dropped straight into the prem.. Little things can really upset a team and it just feels like this has been one of them..

lol same here, sometimes despite being positive you’ve just go to admit that was painful watch. However we may as well enjoy the ride

Bit harsh on Mangala I think. To me, he was the only one of our midfielders who looked remotely comfortable in possession today.

Everything is backwards and we look devoid of creativity. Is it a by-product of trying this possession shit where we are slow to move the ball and meek, instead of the cavaliering counter attacks we enjoyed last season?

At Palace we looked like we knew what we were doing.

It all kind of went wrong from the start.
No MoK at kick off and the tifo started to disappear before the TE even got out their coloured cards. Not one of Forza’s best but it was still appreciated.

As for the football that followed, I think it’s probably all been said.

Can’t change the result now but I fully expect Cooper to analyse the performance and make sure he and the team fix things quickly.

I’d put some warm water and bubbles in Murillo and Felipe’s bath but the rest can freeze their bollocks in iced water.

Yeah, the MOK cock up was embarrassing and set the tone for the evening
