Nuno Albertino Varela Tavares

He can wait for his chance like everybody else (or he could have taken the ones he had).

Least it's a loan, like Origi. Both have shown nothing.

Chance to rectify in January. Even if we can't send both back to their parent clubs, we can oust them from the 25 man squad and replace them with someone else.

The connection between the two events eludes me if I'm honest.

I think the correct terminology for such a thing is "having a hissy fit."

Sure, I can see rage quitting Social Media as a thing, but that's usually in response to something that persistently happens on Social Media.

Why would not making the squad cause him to rage quit Social Media.

Either we've no plans to use that shape or he's played his way out of plans in training... Can't see him being here come the end of January.

Imagine Montiel might suffer the same fate too - we had four right backs in the squad on Saturday!

To be fair, Neco has looked decent in his recent sub appearances, and we're stuck with him, whilst Montiel is only on loan - so I can see the logic.
Yup, and Aina has perhaps bedded in better than expected. We're well covered at right back, less so at LB where I wonder if we might look at Jakobs again.

Our loans have really not worked this time around…. So far.

I don’t think many would shed a tear if we terminated Origi, Andrey, Nuno Tavares and Montiel loans in January, especially if we replaced them with another couple of domestic loans and another striker.

I don't see any future here for Tavares or Santos. Tavares I was sceptical about before he arrived and Santos has clearly not done enough to impress.

Origi has a role at least, though more due to lack of alternatives and would not be surprised to see him gone too if we sign a replacement.

Montiel I'd still like to see more of to truly understand whether he is worth keeping.
