Brennan Price Johnson

Far more effective on the right, not sure his strengths lay in an inverted role to be honest. Decent run for the goal though it has to be said.

Looked short of confidence to me apart from the goal.

I don't think he knows how to play that inverted left forward role.

Brennan's overall off the ball movement is actually very basic. If he positions himself on the shoulder then yeah he'll win the foot race but if he aint doing that he's rarely moving into spaces to impact the game. It's just not him to be part of the build up, he wants to be on the end of the key pass - whether that's to score himself or to square it.

And playing invert left forward means he's never going to be on the shoulder. Spurs are going to waste £47.5m if they're going to insist playing him in that role.

I think it's a bit early to say. He's pretty good on his left foot so there's no real reason he can't play on the shoulder on that side.

It's just not how Spurs play. Wide forwards very rarely play on the shoulder, they pull inside to create space for the overlapping full back, who quite often then crosses back to that player who's got a bit of space near edge of box. Kuluevski asked to do just that from the right wide forward position too. It's why Udogie and Porro are seen so often near the byline.

Why was that spurs player doing a Forest celebration.... shouldn't he have done whatever it is a Cock does?
You mean something like this? :D

Seen a few reports suggesting Spurs are looking at wingers as they're not happy with Johnson. I don't wish Brennan any ill, but I can't help but feel a bit smug that we essentially swapped him for £32m plus Elanga, who looks well on course to contribute similar to what Johnson did last year (maybe fewer goals but more assists).

We'll take him back for £8m to see if we can do anything with him.

They're looking at wingers because they're unhappy with Johnson?

Maybe they should try playing him as a winger rather than an inside forward if they want a winger? Maybe they should realise they bought him for his pace and his composure in the box and playing him as an inside forward means he can't use either of those things regularly.

^^

What did they actually think they were buying?
