Brennan Price Johnson

I'm not sure if these posts are serious, but surely the only one Johnson would have come in for was Elanga who got two assists?

For context Johnson got 3 assists all of last season

While you never know what would happen if he were here, it's also worth noting he's currently injured so we could have been without him anyway. But obviously life doesn't work like that amlmd just because that happened at spurs doesn't mean it would here, but then that also means his injury could have been worse here. I think that's called philosophy, we should ask our Greek mates

We also scored a lot and won games without him at the end of last season. We also have a deeper squad because we got £47.5m for him. I wouldn't go back and change the deadline day ins and outs just because we drew a game we should easily have won.

I'm probably giving this too much thought, but main concensus seems to be that the substitutes cost us the game, but if we didn't sell Johnson two of those subbed off wouldn't even be here

If Johnson stayed and got two assists people would be saying forest were genius to keep him and he's now worth 70-80mil because he's "added assists to his game"

There’s a reason Brennan has gone for £50m and Elanga was £15m. Elanga actually had a good game yesterday to be fair.

I think our problem was with Taiwo and CHO out, we had no other options.

We have invested heavily in defence and midfield over the summer. We certainly could do with 1 or 2 more quality forward players but I see that as the next step in the progress. Stay up and progress this season, invest in the attack next summer.

what we missed is johnson measured crossing, he was the best crosser of the ball (when he's not trying to score himself)

I really liked jonners but I don't remember a lot of measured crosses and too many were wasted. He put a few good balls in but his accuracy wasn't what I'd call measured

I don’t know, he could lay a ball on a plate and did so many times. Obviously as a young player he did make wrong choices and decision making will get better.

The other issue at Forest last season is that attacking opportunities were limited, so some times you’d get one or two chances to lay a cross or take a chance.

You suspect his chance will come at Spurs and he'll make his mark long term, but in the short term he may well have to be content with 10/15 minute cameos like last night.

I'd say that was a confidence booster tonight. He did really well when he came on.

Really nice assist. I think he'll continue to grow and become a regular starter eventually. Richarlison is more cunning and trickier with his dribbling ability but gives up possession a lot. Also has a bad temperament. It's up to Ange which one to go with on the left.

Don't hold it against him for moving and pleased we got a big sum of money for him but not going to fawn over him now he's not playing in red. Reality is we only got two seasons out of him, plenty of non-academy players who gave us more who are long since forgotten.

Each to their own, for me it‘s Brennan who?

And come May he‘ll still have the same then in his trophy cabinet has he has now cause Spurs will choke.

Not many academy players, or big money players for that matter, have had the impact Brennan had in those two years though.

I’d say Collymore in his two years was the last to have such an impact and he left the club in acrimonious circumstances.

Brennan’s impact and the way he carried himself throughout his time here means he goes down as a club legend for me. Certainly in terms of positive impact on the club.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
I want Jonno to do well because he’s a local lad. Also if he does then the Forest Academy gets a boost too.
Of course, if he does do well, the media will erase his time at Forest.

5 assists in 33 starts last season. (Elanga got 3 in zero starts for Man U the year before)

Brennan was great, but i'm not convinced that right now he is better than Elanga.
The difference is that Brennan is clearly on an upward trajectory and will get better every year. Elanga was a risk given his lack of gametime in the last couple of years.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have remarkably similar careers when we look back in 15 years time. Barring injuries etc.

Johnson will play for us later in his career, don't worry about that.
With the greatest of respect to BJ, I'm hoping he wouldn't be good enough to get anywhere the Forest side should that day ever happen.

Hopefully our days of taking back ex players are well and truly behind us.

Both would have been ideal.

The squad could really do with more depth in that area.
