Wonder if we already did that this summer, with Murillo and Omabamadele (spellcheck?!) coming in?

Yeah possibly.

Think Murillo is probably a McKenna upgrade whereas Omabamadele might be the Felipe replacement given the latter seems to be broken.

Still probably need 1-2 defenders next year.

We always need more defenders.

I don't think you can blame just Willy for headed goals.

When was the last time anyone on our team scored or even forced a save from a free kick or corner? I suppose now scores of them will be announced which I had completely forgotten about, but they do seem rarer than hens teeth to me.

I actually think MGW's delivery has improved quite a bit on corners. One of Sangare or McKenna should have scored from close range against City, but both somehow headed thin air instead.

Hang on, must have been Burnley if it was McKenna!

Wasn't Boly credited with a an assist from a corner when he headed it on to Awoniyi? Or did I dream that one.

Also Greig Mitchell even though he seems like a great bloke to go and have a pint with. He’s far far too bias and over positive. He’s the over correction of a doomonger. He will back any academy prospect.
Mitchell is just delusional. Last season after yet another awful performance on the road (cant remember which) he was going on about how great the fans were rather than telling it like it is. You can tell Matt is trying to get him to budge by asking him about negative stuff and just refuses to acknowledge it and spins it round. He reminds me of that Iraqi defence minster who was saying everything is fine as buildings are falling down behind him.

Arsher this week and Mikey Clarke are definitely the two contributers on that podcast with the most balance.

Boly's a weird one. You expect with a 6'5 monster an element of strength and aggressiveness but he doesn't really have loads of either and goes about his job in a more calm and considered way. He's definitely comfortable on the ball even if his long range passing isn't great.

My biggest gripe is his lack of aerial threat from attacking set pieces. He's only scored the one I think since being here.

Personally would be looking at longer term options next summer if we want to progress, with Worrall being the back-up to whoever that new player is.
I'd be very surprised if Boly, Felipe or McKenna are here next season. All three of them are out of contract in the summer. Two are getting on and injury-prone and the other isn't good enough.

I'd imagine if/when we start looking a bit more comfortable as the season goes on we'll see Murillo and Omobamidile integrated more and more.

Given his age, his health, and the contract status, I reckon there's a very high chance that Felipe retires at the end of the season - he's going to be too big of a risk for a club in a top league so the options are likely to be retire, go back to Brazil, or playing at a lower level.

Boly on the other hand, being a couple years younger and seemingly still without major concerns, I reckon we'll try to nail down for another 2 year deal even if he's not looked at as first choice.

if felipe and boly is fit enough and can still play , they can be great mentors to omnipotent and murillo. Rather them than flatfoot joe.

I have to confess to never hearing the podcast in question, and so is that Arsher Ali you're referring to?

Assuming it is, I've met him through him being a mate of one of my sons and concur that he's as you describe in terms of his views on NFFC. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah I think that's him. They should definitely have him on more.

At least that'll be a player that everyone can agree is brilliant.

This is simply the inverse of you. Greg sees only the positive whereas you see only the negative. It's annoying, right???

Not at all, but, he is the famous one!

I don't see how Worrall can be selected above Boly, the passing thing isn't a sufficiently large differentiator for me. Boly is a far better defender. Maybe Joe wins in being a better communicator too, he certainly energises the team in a similar way to Yates.
I'm.not arguing with you about whether he should or shouldn't.

My issue is whether is cogent for some fans to have an opinion about Worral without having to own that to Darren Fletcher.

If its a debate, it's a debate.
