Yep, much better around player for me. More composed on the ball, better end product and better defender.I was resigned to whoever we signed as RWB being a downgrade on Spence.
But so far, the evidence points to us having got an upgrade instead. Was excellent on Sunday, very talented young player.
I don't think he's a better defender than Spence, thought Spence was underrated in that department.Yep, much better around player for me. More composed on the ball, better end product and better defender.
Wouldn't for example expect to see Spence clearing that one off the line the other day.
Spence has his pace and is more exciting but I wouldn't swap given the choice.

Looks like a young more slender Marinakis. Coincidence?
Great player.Love him but can we get him off set pieces?
Who do we have that's better? Every single one was garbage today wasn't it?Love him but can we get him off set pieces?
Except penalties.Gibbs-White will take them
To be fair to young Neco I thought both of them were fouls.Needs to not stop if he's out muscled to the floor. Two games in a row he's sat prone waiting for ref to give a free kick and got neither (rightly). Rules have changed this year to make games better flowing so you're not going to get those decisions Neco. Get up and play on.
Truth is Neco is a much more "traditional" FB/WB than DJed. Hes perhaps not so "dynamite" (as the song goes) going forward carrying the ball but every other aspect of his game is more rounded, water proof and consistent and I'm afraid I completely disagree with some of the comments above suggesting DJed was just as good a defender-he wasn't, period. Neco gets his positioning defensively spot on and whilst hes not a Stuart Pearce tackler, hes pretty effective. I'd hate to have seen Worrall alongside DJed in the 3 games we've had so far with Wozza being so wobbly-Neco has helped him out alot so far. This lad is immense, I genuinely believe that even if Spence wanted to join us we'd have gone for Neco anyway.
Ok he doesn't have the "get you up on your feet" excitement that Djed did, but his final balls and early crosses were superb, unlucky not to score as well.
He's a better footballer than Spence. I have always said it. He understands the game more.He is way more of a goal threat than Djed was even in a league above. He's probably had our most shots.
He still looks like he can believe in himself more yet, will get even better with more experience & games. The stuff people are talking about is just his inexperience.
This. He's a better footballer than Spence. I have always said it. He understands the game more.
He's a wing-back with a central midfielder's brain. Spence brought his own attributes which was mainly his incredible pace on the break. He could rinse almost everyone and was more like a winger at times. Neco has the better footballing brain.
That.I like Neco
This.
You can just imagine, on holiday in Greece, Brennan badgering him every five minutes to sign for NFFC, whilst nearby off the beach, a huge tanker trundles backward and forwards with an enormous „sign for Forest!“ banner dangling over the side, and on the deck, a large, local, bearded Greek gentleman uses a megaphone to continually shout „You know it makes sense, Neco,!“ towards the shore.
