This one's the most exciting we've been linked to for me. Really hope we are not just being used for him to get somewhere of a higher profile
You may have known about him before, though my rule to avoid disappointment is that if I didn't know them 24 hours ago, I don't care if they don't sign!

He looks mighty impressive though...

Made the mistake of watching this guy's youtube clips and getting excited.

But this time, surely we can have more nice things?

It's always impressive when the ball is hit so hard and true that the keeper has dived after the net has bulged. There's more than ten proper worldies in that video. I can't watch it again unless he signs for us!

i am watching Serie A and Atalanta, and i am a fan of this club. They also played against us last season. this is a hell of a player. i mean if this will happen he will be easily your best transfer this season and although i don't know enough of your past transfers before EM took over, i think of last decade at least.

We probably haven't made a truly stellar signing since Van Hooijdonk, so it's going back some. Thanks for the info - I'm remain in my trying not to get excited stance!

Edit: I forget whether PVH was with the national team actually - maybe it's Roy?

the 15m price tag doesn't prevent you from getting MGW. Malinovskyi does that. He is a class player and a starter
Hahah I guess that’s true, but if the price isn’t preventative then getting both isn’t awful. Both have CAM/CM versatility and Gibbs White can play wide and as a CF aswell. I’m sure we could get both in an 11 if we wanted

PVH was also in the Netherlands national team... in fact, it was when he returned from the World Cup that he found out that Campbell had been sold and went on strike. But Roy was probably selected more.

I can't remember if he was called up with us or before us with Celtic though?

Edit: ah, according to wiki way before when with Breda. Phv then!

before... He got his first call-up when he was at NAC Breda...

but wasn't his first dispute with Celtic over needing to play regularly so he would get called up for Hiddink's national squad?

Apparently so - I remember him banging in loads for them and making the 'homeless' comment. Incredible player, total bellend.

He was a goal machine. 335 goals in 551 senior appearances. That's some return.
Yeah, he's one of the best I've seen - made it look easy at times, particularly in the air. Of course, his set plays helped. I remember when first came and everything was an inch or so off from free kicks... then he tweaked his sights!

PVH Was a great player. Best dead ball specialist ive seen I think.

His free kicks had to be 25 yards plus though. He had this ability to dip the ball over the wall so it bounced in front of the keeper, you knew what was going to happen every time.

Think you're right in terms of technique, though Pearce was the daddy for me just because of pure power and angry celebration.

100%.

I was refering to his technique in fairness, his ability to control the ball. Psycho was different gravy with his power, two very different styles.

Yeah, I figured, and agree - insanely accurate striker of the ball. I think I liked Pearce's more because I had more chance of achieving something similar. Of course, I never did!

As a young lad I idolised Pearce and was free kick/corner taker for the team I played for. I could just hit it harder and further than most and I tried to use his technique. I scored a good few long ranges but never lived up my hero :ROFLMAO:

I had no chance of replicating PVH style, most dont.
