Redemption
One less gobshite...
Evangel Dennis at Watford is available for.probably £10-15m... bagged 10 goals last season
Will still be expensive, as Norwich will (quite understandably) want far more than he is worth given how reliant they are on him.What's a proven goal scoring record?
Teemu Pukki was suggested earlier. Both seasons he's played in the Premier League he's scored 11 goals. Could be a shrewd buy at less than £40m.
We still need another striker in addition to what we have, yes. The chances of us signing one with a proven record in the Premier League are extremely low however. At the moment, I'm more concerned about the midfield though. It doesn't matter who we have upfront if we aren't creating anything.Probably-but lets put it another way, are you confident we have enough firepower at present?.
Don't see a parachute payment club letting one of their prized assets go for that cheap myself.Evangel Dennis at Watford is available for.probably £10-15m... bagged 10 goals last season
They only paid €4m for him.Will still be expensive, as Norwich will (quite understandably) want far more than he is worth given how reliant they are on him.

With the greatest possible respect Canadian it isn't a different question. We are too thin up front and there can be no debate about that. Its the whole reason we have squads and the truth is Brennan and/or Taiwo are almost certain to get injured at points in the season..I don't think anyone does but that's a different question. Heaven forbid something happen to Brennan or Taiwo as the squad stands. I'm confident we'll add at least two attacking threats between now and end of the window (preferably before Newcastle but I think that's optimistic), but we may need to find value in other leagues.
I think they said they wouldn't be surprised, along with saying we may break our record again. I can see it being 115m so l, when all is said and done.
I like both Garner and O'Brien but would be a tad worried if we went into September with just them. Basically Cafu, Ojeda and probably Colback should ideally be leaving the club, particularly the first two, on loan or permanently so if they're our back ups then I see that as pretty weak for the Premier leagueSupposing the Huddersfield duo are announced today, and that you'll be waiting for (and most probably signing) Garner until the end of the window, I think you're done with transfers regarding goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders. Your midfield (O' Brien, Garner, Yates, Colback / Ojeda and/or Cafú) might be a bit lacking in experience but there's plenty of youth and stamina.
Now, the focus will be on forwards. I'd bring in at least two. One should obviously be a Zinckernagel replacement. I don't know what the second one should be (winger or striker).
We still had some of the Gunter money left as well, remember!Out of interest and 100% not intending to agitate, does anyone have any understanding how Forest are paying for the incoming players on the whole ?
is it money in the bank? Due to PL payment already received?
EM writing cheques? Then he‘ll recoup money when PL cough up?
based on future earnings? Borrowing as income is guaranteed?
spending worse case parachute payments? Again borrowing ?
or is it a mixture of all above ?
as I said I’m just interested and I’m 100% in the just enjoy the upcoming season and the 38 new experience camp.
my posts as anyone who stumbles across them can attest are light hearted ( or stupid see my Nixon BLOCKED) on the whole.
cheers.
Yates got 8 goals last year, the new ACM should be good for a few whoever that will be, whoever plays deeper (O'Brien/Garner/random) should get a few, centre backs always get a few each from set pieces. I think we will be fine if we get Davis and real quality in the attacking midfielder position.I don't think B/T/S (plus Davies if he signs) is enough for the goals we need-or at least its a big gamble that Taiwo hits the ground running and he and Brennan gel very quickly. I'd like to see a player with a goal scoring record in English football coming in even if hes over the magic 28 years....

thanks for that Red, mad to think as European champions we had a choice of new player or daffy the stand up …..now we’ll have both and a bit extra, after so long away from the top table I’ve become detached from what goes on now in footballI'm assuming a mixture.
The TV rights for the EPL was £8bn over 3 seasons.
That's £2.6bn per season.
Less some solidarity payments to the EFL etc.
The eventual prize fund is then split in two.
50% is distributed equally among the 20 clubs. £57m, at my reckoning (47m from overseas rights and 10m from domestic rights). This could be paid up front as it is unconditional, being part of the league is sufficient to get it.
The other 50% is split in two pay for conditional payments.
One half is TV appearance money, at a million per game. This could be paid monthly.
And finally, the othe other half is the Merit papyment, which depends on league position. That can be paid until the season has ended.
Finally finally, there is the next year's parasite payment.
Some of the transfer fees will be in installments and addons can ob l y be due later.
So you would have thought, much of the initial transfer activity can be funded from league payment's.
Keeping the club afloat dueing the season might need the largesse of the owner.
Captain Objective?To sum up where we are:
1 We have 2 Premiership quality goalies;
2 We have sufficient and decent quality centre-back players and full-backs/wing backs to play either a back 3 with 2 wing-backs, or a back four;
3 We have gaps in defensive midfield players, exacerbated by the injury to Ryan Yates;
4 We have gaps/ an out-right shortage of creative midfield players;
5 We have the bare minimum of wingers/strikers - none with any proven Premiership quality, up to now;
6 We have the best young manager and CEO combination;
7 We have a wealthy owner, driven by a love of football and with a Winners character.
There is still time to fill the gaps.
However, is there still time to ensure the squad is prepared and ready to compete in what is the toughest league in the world?
Time will tell.
I'd be more than happy with those three, plus Davis and an additional midfielder for depth if I am being greedy.After O’Brien and Toffolo sign I’d love us to finish off with:
A defensive midfielder- Mangala
A attacking midfielder- MGW
A left winger / forward - Okafor or Ryan Kent (in last year of his contract)
