Scored an OG in the first minute of the u21s game. Got a flick on a free kick and the keeper just watched it go past him.

I am not able to believe that the media actually are party to every financial detail of a transfer that may or may not have happened yet.
If Forest had agreed £13m and Spurs decided to gazump us, why would they go a full £7m up?
Don’t believe a word

Makes sense for Spence at Tottenham, he is so much better than Doherty in my opinion who is very overrated. Conte plays with wing backs and he will only flourish in my view. If he went to arsenal that would have been the death of him in my view. Shame we couldn’t get him I’m not going to be bitter and say he’s shit but if a player dosen’t want to come here don’t panic there are plenty more right backs on the planet. Let’s move on to our new hero thanks for the memories Djed.

Just because Tottenham have reportedly bid £20 million, it doesn't mean that he doesn't want to come to us, if he had the choice.

If we have been priced out of the bidding by Tottenham offering more than we want to pay and Boro accept only that bid, then it doesn't matter whether Djed wants to come to us - there is no accepted bid from Forest, so he doesn't have that choice to make.

Let's not demonise the player, when it's about Boro choosing the highest bidder right now. Maybe the amount Tottenham bid is beyond what we are prepared to pay, in which case again there is no choice for Djed to return.

According to a mate down London (allegedly ITK), he says Spurs have "officially" denied talking to Boro or Spence, nor have they bid £20m.
Believe it or believe it not.

I dunno about anyone else but I am getting vibes that Spence wants the move to Spurs, but I am not sure Spurs are that keen. All the stories from the Boro end are they haven't come to any agreement, yet stories coming out on the Spurs end that they have.

Not that I blame him, Spurs are a more attractive option but I am getting a feeling he could still end up here.

That crossed my mind.

The talk in Boro is that neither Spurs nor Forest have made offers.

So the only people with a vested interest here is Djed's agent and the man himself.

I can't say I blame him either. Better cash, better prospects, better manager. Yes, yes, bench warmer etc, but part of being a winner is the mindset that says it will work out if you're at the races.

Screams Boro trying to force our hand.

**Edit**
Scream someone trying to force our hands probably his agent to get the best deal.

Thing is, nearly all players will take the first opportunity to move onto something better, no matter how loved they feel at a club. If I was a player and I had Spurs and Forest interested, objectively there is no comparison. Spurs has a world class manager, one of the best stadiums in the world, some incredible players, they're situated in London, they're playing in Europe next year and most importantly, they can offer him wages we can not.

Yes, he's loved at Forest for last season but if he had a shit season, that love would go and he can't spend that can he?

I've been saying this since the Playoff Final but with all due respect to the players that go us to the Premierleague, if we allow sentimentality to dictate our recruitment choices, we're going back down to the Championship 100%. Just as players will look to move onto the next best thing, I think we have to be ruthless and do that as well.

£20m is a ridiculous amount to pay for Spence. He was a key player for us, but he wasn't THAT good. £12m is a good number, £15m at a push but any higher and we're shorting ourselves elsewhere.

Spot on Dizzy. He's worth what someone will pay. Middlesbrough don't really need to ramp it either.

He'll be off to Spurs and fair play to him. Fantastic football club and if he can get game time he'll blow them away

I’d think the only people that know the truth are Spurs and Boros owners, managers and a small handful of others. I doubt they are going to be blabbing to your mate or anyone else

He's still just 21 and has enormous room to keep improving. 20 million is a lot of money but at this age he was ripping Arsenal and Leicester to bits whilst playing at a then (haha, feels amazing to say that) Championship club. I'd absolutely love to see him back at Forest but the club will know by now whether he wants to come back or not, and fair play to him if the chance of playing for a side in the Champions League is too much of a lure.

It sounds like the club is responding quickly and already sourcing a replacement which is great news. I still hope he signs for us but if not then good luck to him at his next club. If he struggles we can always bring him back on loan at Christmas....
