Looking forward to seeing him on the bigger stage next season. Hopefully a five minute discussion on MotD on how his shit housing helped us hang on to a 1-0 win over Man City.

He either wants to go back to France or it’s his agent putting the news out there to get him a big pay rise

An interesting extract:

Samba’s decision to turn down the offer and reluctantly seek an exit is said not to be financially motivated but about respect for his achievements, importance and popularity at the City Ground.

Maybe the contract length then?

Integral to the way we play and good enough for the Premier league. Really hope an agreement can be achieved. Was key in the promotion campaign, the importance of that save in extra time in the playoff semi cannot be over emphasised.

Article did say Cooper has an excellent relationship with Samba and Forest are determined to keep him.

Will end up costing Forest more if another quality keeper needs to be signed. Please sort it out Forest.

Either Murphy knows what he's doing and Samba is being a bit too demanding

or

The Derisory Offer is still king at the Forest.

Take your pick.

A bit of both I think, we will still have a wage structure in place albeit somewhat higher than this season in the championship, if any player expects us to pay then a fortune they’ll be in for a shock.

I’m sure since Murphy came in we put a cap at 18K a week.

Not great news this, we'd be very lucky to get anyone better than Samba for this level, hopefully something get's sorted

I’m hoping this gets sorted and is just a bit if shithousery to get a better contract. Either that or he’s been tapped up.

But Samba is my favourite Forest player for at least 20 years and we need him tied in quick so we can focus on backfilling the loans and then investing in more pressing priorities in the squad.

There's got to be a decent chance it's just a bit of negotiation and they'll reach an agreement. Unless he think he should be getting £70k a week or something.

Pope will be very expensive and, armed with PP, Burnley won't sell if they don't want to. Plenty of good keepers about. This is a blow and I have a feeling others will follow.

If he's not happy, let him go. The most important thing is we've got that break and the financial benefit it brings. Don't waste the money, keep rebuilding and even if the worst happens we have to bounce back up. I'm not advocating being a yo yo but contingency planning is important and I'd rather be a parachute fuelled yo-yo (for one year) then an impecunious championship mainstay.
