Will Swan, Swans off!

Though I'm banging on about him getting game time - this is at least a very competitive move for the lad - Gwan score a hatful yoon, come back and push old man Grabban and angry Boris off their perch.

The only worry I'd have about that move is that Ipswich are currently desperate for anyone to play striker, due to missing three or four with injuries and Covid isolation.
He could potentially go there and find himself as fourth choice within a couple of weeks.

I'll stick my neck out and say this loan will prove to be a feather in his cap.

Ipswich and Paul Lambert certainly need something to sort out their season. Both local papers have recently published front page articles demanding the sacking of the manager.

What could happen, of course, is that Swan goes there because Lambert likes him, Lambert gets the bullet and Swan is sidelined by the new boss.

Interesting case for the club and Swan to sort out.

Got to make room for Glenn Murray on the bench.

He's only 37 the futures bright.. Sometimes i wish we weren't Nottingham forest because time and again if we weren't we wouldn't do what we do. And there are load of posters on here who will always wax lyrical when we sign these players but its clear it never gets us anywhere..

Hopefully he's packing his gloves, it's cold up there

They scored five on Saturday. Yes, five goals, in one game! He'll get chances there if he plays. Not sure it's good for him to get used to that sort of service.

My Vale supporting mate says he'll get game time as they've just let go of two strikers.

It's a great opportunity for the lad, hope he takes it.

Another young lad deemed not good enough here and replaced by proven (old) talent.

Wow, it's not that Will's not good enough, he's just not good enough yet, but he's young and needs experience and also to bulk out a bit more. I can't see him being a target man type because he isn't big or strong enough yet.

I really hope Mcguane, Johnson and Swan come back to join Worrall, McKenna and Mighten to absolutely smash League One to oblivion next season.

Few of the other u23's bubbling too...praying we don't let them slip away

We love a loan to Port Vale. That Jake Taylor deal must have got us further good will there.

Personally I think Forest should be doing more relationship-building with a small number of selective lower league clubs to get game time for the Academy lads.

Port Vale has been a decent stop for a couple, and Lincoln too (although the way things are going, the Imps will be at the same level as Forest before too much longer). Maybe it’s also worth opening up a channel with the Stags, given who their Manager is.

That comment is too stupid to be worthy of a sensible response.

This is a good loan move for the lad, and Port Vale is a good club for him to go to, and one that Gary Brazil obviously trusts.

Would have loved him to get plenty of chances off the bench this season, that clearly isn't going to happen under the current approach, so getting game time is a must for the lad, and as you say, decent club Port Vale.
