Big money either way

If we pay them off they're gone

If we don't we'll pay them the same amount but they'll be stinking up the squad for 1/2 years

Don’t get the logic Harvey. They aren’t with the squad, have been told to sling their hook.

You are just giving up huge amounts of money for no reason at all. Assess the situation after window closes of likes of Traore/Ward but apart from that it’s pointless.

What kind of fee do you think we will get for Traore and Ward?

Essentially my point is - there may be circumstances in which we need these players

It's lunacy to sideline them in the way Karanka has

They're members of the squad whether he likes it or not

Don’t agree at all.

The players that have been bombed out have stunk up the club and are nowhere near good enough. Our squad that went abroad is big enough over a Champ season and we have youngsters for cover.

It’s extreme circumstances because the squad needs culling. It’s worse letting them mix and train with the group.

No they aint good enough I agree

But that doesn't mean we won't need them

We aren't exactly known for our robustness with player fitness

What if Tobias and Dawson get injured?

Do we think Mance is going to give his all for a club that told him to do one?

Then we play Fox, Worrall, Anel or Robinson.

I don’t wanna see players like Mance in a red shirt again, we don’t need him. He needs to sling his hook.

So Fox, Worrall, Anel and Robinson are presumably on Karanka's non-outlawed list?

Why would you hamper yourself by telling certain sections of your workforce that they aren't wanted and can sit around doing nothing collecting wages?

In any other area of life that would be scandalous but apparently in football it's ok.

The ones that have been in Spain is our squad for next season and is still a big squad.

The ones that were left at home are the ones that aren’t gonna play next season, because they aren’t good enough and we won’t need them.

No. Sorry.

It's all or nothing

Either include them or get rid of them.

It’s a transfer window Harvey, a bit of patience is required. They are getting rid of them. This is where I don’t get your point. In three weeks they could be all gone, free of cost for our club.

Whether it’s done on July 1st or August 1st makes absolutely no difference to our first team squad.

If they are then great

My point is that they aren't really that desirable and so it's likely they'll still be here

That being said, I'd rather we had them contributing rather than sitting around playing FIFA and tossing each other off

We all know they're shit players - if the weren't we wouldn't be sidelining them. But they're still part of the squad and it aint beyond the realms of possibility that any one of them might be called upon to fill a role.

Contributing to what exactly? They ain’t gonna play.

We have been carrying players like this for the past 4 years, the club is being ruthless for once.

Our squad is big enough to not require any of the cast offs, that’s why they have done it.

They aren't featuring because by and large they are shit and will command a very little fee from anyone

I'd love for Traore and Ward to go to Rotherham for £500k each but the fact is they're shit and no-one will take them

sure, thats probably true (though we seem to be in line for some sort of fee for Cummings if the P'boro Chairmans tweets are anything to go by) theres a few players on the list we could/should get a fee for, McKay being one of them, but even if we only get them to leave to another club on a free transfer, thats still saving significant amounts of money, i think theres, what, 9 players on the list we want to get rid of? i think they all have 1-2 years left on their contracts, i dont know what wages they are on, but assuming an average of 7.5k pw and an even split between 1 and 2 years left, thats about 5.2 million quid in wages (and i reckon thats being conservative), now if we paid them off, we woudnt be paying them in full, but even if they take half, thats still at least 2.5 mil flushed down the drain, we might as well try and find someone to take them off our hands without having to throw more money at them

So we pay them all off at huge expense, only for some other club to pick them up for nothing next week? Everyone wins there, except NFFC of course.

That's Fawaz levels of business competence.

Not being funny dude but I've seen so many posts on this forum about how players should be dropped because they don't put in the effort or play for the shirt etc etc

But how do we expect anyone to show any passion or loyalty towards Forest when they are told they aren't wanted?

Whether Karanka likes it or not these guys are members of the squad and should at least be training.

Look my point was - if we AREN'T paying these contracts off (which we aren't) then what purpose does excluding them serve?

You could call it ruthless, and that's fine.

Just don't come crying to me when players treat us in the same ruthless fashion.

I don’t expect any of the players in the bomb squad to show passion for NFFC anymore. And neither would Karanka.

They should be actively trying to show passion for somebody else and get a move. We don’t need them, they won’t ever be involved with forest again. This is the point where we are seeing things differently.

Unity.

Usually unwanted players that hang around the squad can become a negative influence on the squad.

Yes, the last thing we want is players who aren't wanted being a negative influence on the first team squad.

Not really.

They are entitled to their wages outstanding on their contract. So, we either pay them off now, and give them the whole amount in full, and they aren't our issue any more and can f*** off and play for someone else, or we pay the same amount over the remains of their contract and we have them stinking the place out.

Complete no-brainer if they aren't in our plans at all bin them.
