Mate come on, you cant discuss them pair in the same breath on anything.

Ones arguably our greatest ever player the other has been slogging away in arguably our worst ever period of time
Hes the best of a bad bunch but thats not really an achievement to be warrent any comparisons with the great man

I didn't read Chris's comment as a comparison in any way Barry, merely an example.

On the subject of Robbo, I can clearly remember him being a target for the terrace critics before Cloughie and PT completely turned his career around by converting him from being a fairly run-of-the-mill centre-midfielder to world-class left-winger.

Thing is, why does he have to be tied down to a certain position anyway? Why the desire to bracket him & everyone into a "fit"?

Benny, like all players, just has handy qualities to use in various areas when suits. His best position is wherever benefits from those qualities in the context of the game.

This is the correct answer to me. With a slight bias towards him playing in the centre.

The Championship is long and brutal. Every summer we start out not knowing where people will fit in and after a few months that changes to not having any cover for a position as injuries set in.

I didnt say that he was comparing him just merely that just because they were both considered slow one isnt gonna turn out like the other.

Feel like we are getting selective data here, Where are any Newcastle, Brighton, or Huddersfield players?, and look how many minutes he played versus most of the others.

Is it whoscored.com which has all this data. If you go through it, Benny is up there with and higher than a lot of the players from teams in similar positions. The main difference is, those teams spread the workload. I think it's shows how much Osborn is willing to take on the responsibility of the attacking side of our game. He could easily just trot around the pitch for the majority of games not demanding the ball and pushing forward.

He'd rightly get criticised, probably dropped and we'd be a worse team.

The same shower that saw fans chuck Oliveira under a bus because Freedman was the God of chances created.

I'm a fan of Benny, but I wouldnt trust any whoscored.com stat. These stats are a nonsense because alot of the tenuous ones are down to the interpretation of who?

I agree stats can be taken with a pinch of salt but I still think it was obvious that after Burke left, Osborn was the only one trying to do anything whilst we got very few players forward in support of the attack and couldn't keep a clean sheet. As I said, the top teams share the work load or they are balanced and set up in a way that lets one player put lots of crosses in or play through balls etc. Organisation and tactics weren't in Montanier's vocabulary.

A lot of the stats don't mean much as they're all over the shop depending on what site you use.

Regardless he's a useful player but not quite up with the best in this division yet imo.

Not saying in a couple of years he won't be as is still only 22 but I'd definitely look to strengthen the midfield further with a couple more additions to raise the standard.

We've still got to move on players Warbs doesn't want as well in order to free up wages!

Ben lives around the corner from me and I hope it ain't bad news but his house has just gone up for sale, it was only built a couple of years ago so I can't see why he would be moving yet, notice the Newcastle shirt on his wall!

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if he's heading to the park or somewhere similar - that house is nice but he can afford a much nicer gaff with the aristocracy in the city centre

For that money you'd expect loads more right?

I'd certainly expect a bigger property that money.

The lounge looks tiny.

I don't know the area but has obviously been priced correctly for the area. I'm not disputing that. Just the idea that this soulless, fairly bog standard house now fetches half a million quid.

Maybe they've added a few k as reds legend Osborn lives there!

Could be the "Celebrity Factor"?

For what it's worth, Chris Cohen's house is much bigger than that one.

Could be that Benny has a desire to live closer to Nottingham in one of its leafier and more affluent areas such as West Bridgford, The Park, Ruddington, Mapperley Park, Sneinton......?

I can just see Benny hanging round Sneinton market on a Saturday night.
