• All - as you will understand, the forum is exceptionally busy at this time. The admins and moderators simply don't have time to read every post in every thread. Could you PLEASE use the "Report" option below a post to flag any content that you feel we need to be aware of. We'll review everything reported as a priority and deal with it accordingly. Thank you.

Nottingham Forest Supporters Trust (NFST)

Posts will only be edited or removed if their content crosses the line of libel, downright offence and the like.

It's also worth pointing out that many of the banning offences on here are also against the rules of Twitter (and the vast majority of forums, comments sections, and so on).

I also think it's safe to say that if a NFST member was publicly spouting off in a way that brought the Trust into disrepute, they would have their membership revoked. At the very least their opinions would be 'edited out' for any official NFST statements.

I am not looking for anything. My initial post was asking a question based on a post that said something along the lines of “the trust can get in touch with us as in “the mods” I’m sure we would help. And all I did was ask who elected the mods. They were not elected by anyone, so why should the trust be going to them? That is all I was asking. If you, me or any fan wants to get involved with the trust you join or you go to a meeting. They don’t come to you. Seems straight forward to me. If you are an elected fan group then I understand the invitation. But as has clearly been stated this is nothing of the sort. A number of people on here seem to have got very defensive all based on one question. I asked a question, I replied and thanked the person for their reply. That is the end of it as far as I am concerned.
If you want to post something on forum (a) which is designed to direct traffic to forum (b) or website (c), it is courteous to ask the admins/moderators of forum (a) or for the admins/moderators of forum (a) to advise that such a post would be approved (or not) before it was posted.

This unwritten rule of courtesy applies irrespective of the nature of forums a and b or website c.

And LTLF, which is a potentially very useful platform for getting information to Forest fans, would be the perfect resource for the Supporters Trust to cultivate.

That was the point of my initial post, in that I'm sure I speak for my fellow Moderators when I say that we'd be willing to help where we could, if the aims of the Trust are something we believed in and that their message was one we could help them get across.

Wait, what item was this in the agenda again?

Brilliant. How am I supposed to know which posts to delete if you go deciding important things while I'm not there?

NFST Comms

Hi. Wanted to at least post to acknowledge feedback on this forum, all of which is valid.

I’m Elliott, part of several who deal with comms on behalf of NFST.

I was not involved in the early days so cannot comment on what has gone before, and I haven’t used this forum for many many years. I offered to help the Trust after the open meeting and have been supporting since on several fronts. I don’t want to comment on individuals, primarily because my opinion means little, and also because the Trust is not, and should never be, about individuals.

Going forward we’ll use this account the same way we use our other social media accounts. Largely as an info sharing account and to highlight key info or events.

I just wanted to cover a couple of things, as its clear they are hot topics!

The lack of coverage on this forum is absolutely valid, and something we will address. Even with three of us covering comms it has been hectic. I liken it to having another full time job, on top of the one i’ve already got - and that is not an exaggeration. That said, we should at least have made efforts to update this forum with key info - I will ensure that happens going forward.

Regarding the lack of profiles on the website, this is something that has been discussed at length amongst the working group. Once we have an elected board profiles will be on the website, no question but it is important to remember that not all of the current board will stand for election. I can speak from personal experience the past few weeks that you need several tin hats when sticking your head above this particular parapet!

It is worth just touching on the democratic process to get to fully elected board status. There will be no ‘reserved’ spots for current working party members. Every position will be up for election and any member can apply to stand.

Speaking personally (which we won’t do, as a rule, using this account - but it is relevant here!) I may not stand, but will instead perhaps support as an ‘active member’. Board positions are largely boring (in my opinion anyway!) governance work, and that’s not my thing. I feel (and have evidence from many other Trusts we’ve spoken to) that the real power of a Trust is in the strength of its members and their actions; not solely the strength of its board.

I hope some of this helps. I got involved because I love this football club, and I want it to be here in another 150 years, standing proud. I know many, MANY people feel the same and getting involved in the Trust, whatever ‘getting involved’ looks like for individuals is, I genuinely believe, a way of achieving that outcome.

We’ll continue to use this account to update this forum. If it helps, I am more than happy to hold an open forum in Nottingham to answer questions from LTLF members (or at least try to!).

Cheers,

Elliott, on behalf of NFST

I genuinely don't know if I actually posted on here much or not Samuel....main place I was 'active' on forums was BBC 606. It wont just be me using this account, there are a few of us who cover comms so we'll all have access and will update as appropriate.

A few people who have been involved thus far with the Trust will be at Saltbox today, supporting the Forza event but also to answer questions so please do grab us for a chat.

Again, will just reiterate, I am absolutely certain we haven't got everything right thus far, and we wont in the future - whoever is involved. What is key, for me at least, is that we continue to evolve and learn - and that comes from embracing different views, opinions and ideals. Fundamentally, we all want the same thing - a successful club.

Hope to see some of you at Saltbox later. COYR.

May I just say that the efforts of those involved with the Trust, Forza and LTLF should all be celebrated. This club, and many others up and down the English leagues needs more engagement. In these dark times seeing fans rally round for the benefit of the club is a great thing - thank you to everyone who puts their time and effort in.

For me, I don't get the criticism of LTLF. In fact, it's probably the most open forum I've ever participated in. I enjoy new members with a handful of posts being treated the same as those with thousands. We often joke of a clique here, but there really isn't aside from some usernames are better known than others, but that's normal if those without lives contribute 20k posts or so over the years. :)

Agree entirely, Forestfans and talkforest were bastard sites where keyboard warriors were driven by their egos. I love this place and talkback, i do miss alternative forest though :(.
