Fair result. Should have really been more. Played England off the park at times.
It was a valiant effort but Spain were far better. Bronze looked well off the pace, Toone was anonymous and Walsh was an outright liability. Lauren James didn't really make any impression either, for all the hype.
Feel bad for Earps as she was terrific, as was Greenwood (vastly underrated player) and Jess Carter had another solid game - but it wasn't enough. Hemp started promisingly but eventually ran out of steam and England's threat seemed to die around the same point.

It's was almost the same with Hope Powell.
Everyone was predicting she'd leave England and go into the men's game and have sucess.
I have no objection to women crossing into the men's game, but the women's game is not developed to anywhere the same level of men's and thinking that doesn't matter shows a poor lack of understanding of leadership.
Even in defeat, this match should serve as a call for young girls everywhere that they can achieve the heights these England Players have.
Every single one of them has been brilliant, and deserves every bit of praise they should be getting.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this campaign by the Lionesses, as I did the European Championships before them.
There should be no conceit in victory, no despair in defeat, as someone once said.

Would take Sarina over Southgate any day of the week, she changed it at half time and we looked so much better for it. Southgate changed nothing and we slept walk to a loss against France.

Yes. I don't think many managers would in high pressure environments. It's why I rate SC so highly.
