Could fill the Lingard role perfectly.

Yep, does make sense. Very good pro coming off the back of an excellent season. Another year of so in the PL before Saudi football beckons.

On a one year deal (with maybe an option for a further year if things go well), I'd take him. Quality player who showed with Fulham that he still has a lot to offer. Plus he's Brazilian, so will fit right in.

I think the fact that he wants to stay in the Premier League at his age when he'd be forgiven for taking the easy money in Saudi Arabia or the MLS also says a lot about him as well. Indicates that the desire to play at the highest level is still there.

He was quite frankly immense for Fulham last year.

Looked on a completely different level to everybody else when they played us.

For 1 - possibly 2 years- it's a yes.

However, I'm guessing the above is what Fulham has offered him and he wants longer?

That's what Southampton did and went down.

You need a mix of both, and let's be honest young talent get poached off by the big boys anyway.
Southampton signed a load of teenagers who had barely played first-team football before. I'm suggesting we sign 21-27 year olds who have experience already, but have yet to peak.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed Willian; I just don't think he fits the profile of what we need and would be a bad fit.

Which is fine, but we're in a place where those players that will take us to the next level have a massive fee and a choice of us possible relegation/low mid table or Westham Europa League.

Then there's the cost multiple 10s of millions.

A few older but talented freebies that improve the overall squad for a season or 2 is always a good thing.

No thanks. Hasn't been the same since Black Eyed Peas split up.

Would love to sign Willian. He's been a stupendous, undervalued player his whole career. Starts in my all-time premier league eleven. Just a wonderful player who's got everything. He's still half as good as he was at his peak, so he'd be our best player by a mile.

Definitely going to Saudi though, so no point dreaming.
