I’m not sure why you’d be loyal to Palace for so long only to go to Turkey.

A league in which the Champions still have to go through qualifying rounds to get into the CL.

Oh well, hopefully it helps us out and it weakens Palace.

A bit of an odd one, but I guess if he wanted to play CL football (and none of the English clubs were interested) then there aren't really many options for clubs who can afford his wages across Europe. £4/£5m a season for a 30 year old is quite a big outlay even for clubs in Italy.

Hope it works out well for him. I get the impression he's wanted to move for a few years but no club would meet Palace's valuation, still performed every week like a real pro despite that.

Didn't realise he was 30, had him mid 20s at most. Surprised he didn't get offered a ticket on the Saudi train.

I think that's what someone was applauding him for above. I'm sure had his agent made it known he'd take the Saudi money an offer would have been forthcoming, but he's said he wanted CL football and he's got that. Got all their money, the Saudi league can't offer CL football (yet).

Bit odd though given her could have all that at Man U but he chose to go back to Palace.... (big fish, small pond)

Bizarre move.

He leaves Palace where he’s an absolute club legend; fair enough, I’m sure their fans wouldn’t begrudge him that.

Then signs for less money for a club in a two bob league. Why? Because they might play a handful of CL games before being eliminated this side of Christmas.

Might as well have signed for Celtic or Rangers. They’ve got a room full of pointless pots and pans too.

If he wanted the money he could’ve gone Saudi.

Signing for Galatasaray doesn’t make sense from a football or financial point of view.
