Partly when the top brass appointed Murphy. We suddenly saw a level of quality and professionalism which we'd not had at the club in years, and his approach to everything was bang on the cock. Appointing Cooper was just part of that.

But watching Swansea fans talking Cooper down in a desperate attempt to hide their butthurt backed that up, and was the real watershed moment for me. What they were saying simply didn't stack up, and...like Derby's "fight till the end" sense of denial...folk only do that when they are trying to hide the obvious from themselves.

When they asked Chairman Mao what he thought of the French Revolution, he said it's too early to say.

But then Mao was a prat.

Glad you lot had good birthdays...

The only time we have ever played a competitive match on my birthday - we lost 4-1 to Stoke and bottled a 6 goal swing against Steve Cooper's Swansea :ROFLMAO:
Just had a look back at the BBC article from when Hughton was sacked and some of the comments are wonderful.

As soon as we got to Wembley in my opinion. He got us through a psychological barrier where countless had failed before. I believed even if we’d lost at Wembley that I wanted him to stay to be given an entire season.
