What position do you think we will finish in the league this season?

11th or 12th.

Last season we started the season poorly with new signings and lack of gelling and Cooper not knowing best way for us to play and best XI etc but remove those first 10 games or so and we'd have been 12/13th.

We don't have the same issue this season so I think we can get there in a full season.

15th. We'll finish above Luton, Sheff Utd, Burnley, Everton and Wolves.

If you assume the number of goals scored might roughly equal the points gained with a reasonable defence then,

Awoniyi 13
Johnno 7
MGW 5
Elanga 4
Danilo 5
Other Midfielders 4
Rest 5

Totals 43

Other than Leeds/Leicester, no other team below 10th place scored more last season.

12th-14th and a canny cup run will do me this season, eat what’s on our plate.

Early indications would suggest Forest would be looking to finish higher than they did last season with Everton, Sheffield United and Luton determined to go down with each other.

Bournemouth have spent a f*** tonne but the 'organised chaos' TM nonsense that some media folk are fawning over is causing them to be as open at the back as Burnley are, who are desperately trying to get into the Everton, Sheff Utd and Luton love triangle.

Finish above them at least. See who else we can leapfrog.

Oh aye I forgot MGW included in the England squad would be most welcome 🙏

I want to see us against Burnley first cause we are in this strange position of playing very poorly against poorer sides but competing against the top sides. I want to see if we can just see Burnley off 3-1 or 2-0. If we can smell blood against sides in and around us than anywhere from 8th to 14th. As I have said though my expectation at the start of the year was to be safish with 5 games to go. The starting 11 hasn’t improved in terms of quality but it sangare comes in and turns out to be a dominant force and can drive us than it’s possible. Need to see if sangare can make up for the losses elsewhere in the starting 11.

You mention our starting eleven is weaker in almost every post. I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion already?

What have Turner, Aina and Elanga done to make you sure they're not as good as Henderson, Lodi and Johnson?
What do they have to do to change your mind?

Personally I think they've all been really good thus far and I'm more than happy with all 3, I'm reasonably confident once they're all bedded in they'll equal, if not surpass their predecessors. (Elanga already has 2 goal contributions in not too many minutes, Johnson had 11 total last year).

Hard to tell what our ceiling is at the moment, as its still early days and we've new players to integrate. I do feel confident that we'll finish higher than last year though, and not just because the bottom half of the league is weaker either. We are clearly a better side now than last season IMO.

6 more points than last season would have had us 12th last year - we can definitely achieve that. That should be the goal, anything else is a bonus.

Prior to the window I thought if we only had limted injuries we could push on to 15th-13th but looking at the additions I think we could do it more comfortably.

I'll go 14th and be happy not to have a cup run, not remotely interested this season. Weve had the big guns back at WFCG ground now, won a few etc and done the plucky underdog thing. I more than happy for us to progess our league standing and at least have some talk about us as an established Prem team.

That would be progress.

Yeah we seem to have it nailed down at the moment away to the big sides. It obviously won't work all the time as the quality and resources we're competing against is immense but there's a formula there that will gain us the odd point or 3.

At home though, particularly against the poorer sides in the division there's no need for us to sit back and give them the freedom of Nottingham to pop it about. Earlier Cooper spoke about tactical flexibility and I hope taking it to teams at home a bit more is what he's got in mind.
