We have too many loans!

We currently have 6 players in on loan at the club (Byram, Janko, Goncalves, Colback, Pele, Bonatini) and are supposedly signing a 7th (Wague) tomorrow, Football League rules state we are only allowed to have 5 loan players in a matchday squad, so we aren't even going to be able to use all of them! Granted Byram is out injured, so only one player will have to miss out every week, but that's still dumb squad management

It's unlikely that Byram and Janko would ever be in the same matchday squad, and Goncalves will probably have his loan cancelled soon (or if we can't do that, the chances of him ever playing for us again are almost zero). So that'll be your 5.

I think it’s good management not bad - we needed players and Jan is an expensive time, presumably with loans we’ve not broken the bank

Most clubs seem to have figured that out now, don't they? Remarkable how few actual transfers for money this January.

It's all about mid-table...
Its going out of fashion Vals, spend what you dont have now, not what you have.

We'll sort it in the accounts next year jobbies.

If that Pele ever appears in a starting line up I'll just assume that the club's amended it's aim to "becoming a pub team" (or whatever the Greek equivalent of that is).

Apologies if that offends anyone who plays for a pub team (or it's Greek equivalent).

Whatever the club do is shit

If they’d spent 20m folk would be moaning about FFP

If they’d bought potential then folk would be moaning they aren’t ready

I think they’ve pretty much done it right, 2 CB on permanent deals and a striker who has done it at this level for Wolves with an option to buy

Not sure about that Pele fella mind, I expect him to be a bit crap

Best thing about this transfer winda is that we didn’t sign that wanker McLean before the winda slammed shut

Did I miss something?

When I've seen Pele play I'll decide whether he's any good or not.

Not quite sure why people are writing him off so harshly already

Think people are just questioning if we needed to add to a position that we already have 6 players in. Especially given his career stats..

Well, 2 of those play right back and one of them is injured, as others have said.

Loans are also good as it allows you to try a player to see if you like them - like last year we brought in CP and TF on loan and signed them, and not LT...

Of our loanees Colback should be the first on the sheet after the keeper, he is premier league quality. Toss up between SJ and TD who's better, and not seen any of our new loans play for us so not sure if they are better than what we have or not yet.

Not 'people' ubik, just me it appears.

He's spent most of his career on loan - so he's been a 3rd choice for his club sides, three of these sides he never made a first team appearance for. He's scored a total of 17 goals in 140+ games - of which at least 8 were penalties. A video of him shows the 8 penalties, one long pass (made), an unchallenged shot he hoofs high and wide and one 'in the box' goal where his body language says he was very worried about getting hurt.

His 'price tag' makes him look exciting, his career tells another story. Monaco forked out 10 mill Euros, played him 8 times and now farmed him off to us. As he's 27 I doubt they're thinking he'll mature into anything better than they've found him to be.

So it's now over to Martin. And good luck to him.

I agree that incoming loans are a far cheaper option especially in the January window. What is concerning to me is the amount of players we have loaned out. We have 9 players out on loan. I sure hope we are being well compensated because most of these players will never play for Forest again (Worrall and Smith will but not sure the others will). IMO, it is the result of constant managerial change combined with poor decision making when it comes to contracts. We are saddled with the contracts of Vellios, Ariyibi, Grant, Cummings and Tachtsidis for another season after this one and Clough for a year after that. Our roster is far too bloated and the wage bill must be very high.

This is what I think as well

I’d love a complete squad run down to show who we own and will play for us

Who we have in on loan and who we have loaned out
