I mean is there any point in Forest turning up with @TheAuthority starting preview game threads at the business end of the season? Should just take the 3-0 loss now.

This should be a banker win whatever form we're in. Forest have taken about six away points all season and just lost a massive six pointer to Leeds after leading.

Who knows if Steve Cooper will even be in the Trinty dugout. Think the greek guy might pull the trigger after that.

Only danger is Johnson so personally I'd bring Chambers in just to freshen things up as Young was really feeling it tonight.

3-1 win.

Cooper likely to be sacked before we play them. Another risk of playing a team with a new manager bounce.

Doubt they would have a new manager in place for Saturday. Think it could work in our favour to be honest - Cooper a good manager and worked wonders for them to be honest.

Forest are not total mugs and need to be respected.

If we are 0-0 at halftime, then so be it. I have patience

Forest have obviously had a scatter gun approach with signing players and it hasn’t quite come together but they’ll rock up here and you just know they’ll click. Respected yes but table doesn’t lie either. They are were they are thus they can be got at.

The Forest board has just put more pressure on Cooper, by giving him a vote of confidence and demanding instant improvement. I'd rather have that than face the bounce following a manager departure.

I really want Forest to stay up but I really, really want us to continue our winning run into the glory a European spot.

As always can't take any games for granted in this league, but of all teams to play to keep the run going you'd have picked Forest I think. Their away form has been dreadful all season, and they're at possibly their lowest point of the season now after not picking up a win in what was an alright run of fixtures for them before they now go into an awfully tough run-in. One of my mates is a season ticket holder there and is saying that confidence is pretty rock bottom going into this weekend.

Having looked at villa match thread on their forum, their fans are all predicting a win for them. Am I missing something? Are their fans delusional?
I suspect Steve Cooper will stick to his strategy of defending and counter-attacking for 70 minutes and then hoping to have run the legs off Villa, go looking for a winner.

It worked against Man City but there is no Chris Wood due to injury.

This is a bit of tradition at Forest and I remember back in 1978, Villa pounding the Forest goal to no effect and then losing to a late goal.

Players know that if they lose this then Cooper will be out. They are going to storm out at us . They genuinely love him as their manager.

Forest going down. Won’t be missed. Two good goals today. Great to be winning after such a tight run of games with a small squad.

Fantastic end. Referee very poor as I'm not quite sure how they finished with 11. Filipe not even booked?! Shelvey with two atrocious tackles...

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I thought we were average today but would always win. I love this team and manager.

Forest are a very dirty team.

Comfortable win. 1-0 would have flattered Forest so I'm glad we got the second goal.

Forest didn't offer much except for athleticism but I still think they've got a shot at survival. For us? Europe!

Don't get too excited, they wil have bought the ref, the linesmen and all the cabbages in the VAR room to "help" them.

They really are so **** odious.

Wasn’t great today but it’s all about winning atm, which we did comfortably in truth. Would like Forest to stay up but think they are as good as down on that showing.

Thanks for collecting this drivel eezzeetiger. What a delusional lot they are. We were in complete control until Shelvey did his thing.

I love this "in complete control" business. Especially when we create four fifths of f*** all. It's great isn't it? Being in control of a game yet contributing absolutely nothing to it.
Indeed. How on earth were we in control of the game with zero shots on target in the first half?

It's delusional once again. The same delusion that ignores all the evidence (form, performances, injuries, run-in etc etc) and think we'll turn in Champions League form suddenly to stay up.

First half? We controlled that without the ball, completely closed them off and were a threat on the break, how many corners did we have? (It'd be nice to have a set piece coach though)

Did you watch the game, or just the highlights? I thought Coops managed his threadbare options in a very creditable manner against the form team in the division. Villa were almost completely nullified for the entirety of the first half, while we had an astonishing number of opportunities from dead ball situations that sadly we didn't capitalize on. Second half we just needed to stay focused and let one of those situations, or a counterattack opening, land right for us. Instead, Shelvey's brain-melt sucker-punched out all of the hard work of the first 45.

But isn’t this what you do?

Current form negates any prior form (impossible to go on another run).

Returning players make no difference (even if we got more points with them in the side).

Stifling the EPLs in-form team means nothing (we are rubbish anyway).

The run-in after Man U and Liverpool features two relegation threatened teams, three top 10/11th teams and one in the top six (yet any more than 3 points is impossible).

What you do Omar is ignore all improvement / positive evidence and solely focus on the negative. This is demonstrated time and time again.

You are just as delusional, if not more so, because the idea that there is nothing positive is laughable. At least other posters ebb and flow in their views, yours are like a stagnant pond.

It's the hope that kills you huh?

I'd say that Palace were out of the relegation fight now, but that's just my opinion.

It is still possible for us to do this. We'll need a turnaround in fortunes though.
