The deal is still on according to the French press, because the player got convinced to come to us (as a loan from you).
I kind of get that it could be an idea but is there a danger of you not meeting ffp requirements gbg? I just don't know why he wouldn't just move straight to you without the loan bit? He seems a good player but we are being linked with Bowler who seems similar but younger so us signing him to never play for us seems weird of he could just join you directly.

1. We don't have a ffp problem but we do have a cash flow problem, compared to our rich British cousin.

2. The player was reluctant to come to us. The possibility of playing in the Premier in the future (if for example you need a striker because of injuries at the end of a transfer window) is an extra incentive.

Cheers GBG, I'm all for sharing the love so to speak and he looks a good player, as a side note its crazy that last season we probably slightly gambled by spending £6m and this season we can potentially spend £4m for a player we might never see play for us.

I was just looking at the situation from the players perspective and thinking that a move directly to you guys would be better but I suppose he can get the best of both worlds, playing for you guys competing for titles in the glorious sunshine whilst picking up a Premier league wage does seem to make more sense.

Only issue is that media will make big deal that 'Forest make 17 summer signings' even though he'll never likely wear a Forest kit.

Can shirt sales of Olympiacos in South Korea now be attributed to Forest?

EDIT: As in, the loan agreement states we take a proportion of extra shirt sales in Asia?

Turns 30 at the end of the month, goes straight to Oly on loan and we'll get a load of "money laundering" shit on social media off the back of it. Don't get what's in it for us at all.
It cannot hurt to have a good striker on standby, but other than that, it's purely a financial deal between the two pockets of EM. As I said, we're the cash-strapped cousin now. I didn't see you complain when we "bought" Soudani for 3m or took up the wages of Pantilimon. :p

If we go down it gives us a decent striker and if he does well we can sell him for an inflated price.

Olympiacos may of given us a few duds over the years but we usually made a profit on them, we also palmed a few crap players off to them so we can’t really complain at this signing.

We’re also the rich half of the family now so we probably have to get used to one of these signings every now and again.

Given his age, I wouldn't be confident of even recouping the fee let alone getting an inflated price - even if he has a fantastic season at Olympiacos.

Oly may have, but as you say, some were solely to assist in bypassing FFP rules to insert some capital into NFFC. I expect the Carvalho deal was in our favour, so if this lad can be of genuine benefit to Oly then all is good.

Tell them to go f*** off. There is no money laundering by any definition in this.

For us perhaps nothing. But as in the past there were financial transactions written in forest's books to help the club now this is the equivalent.

There were several sales that benefited your books and that's pretty much understandable because of the same owner.

Not to mention the Carvalho case where we got him to lift a lot of budget from Forest's books and the remaining transfer's year payments. And we are stack with him now of course. Or not to mention some other from the Portuguese clan lolol that were also pretty invisible lolol

So I think it's the one club helping the other when is needed and everything is being done by the rules.

Furthermore, now we have a cash flow issue because of the CL elimination. We will pay you a loan fee probably, or not, only the books will know, but next year if the player wants to stay here and we want him we will buy him and the balance will be sorted again. Or he may come there or he maybe transferred again and you will get money back.

You don't lose anything in my opinion. EM is investing a lot there and that's probably for helping our current cash flow.

Watford just pulled a similar stunt with Kamara. They sold him to Udinese for an undisclosed fee and took him back on loan. That's even fishier and there is no problem about it because it is legit as long as money is recorded in the books.

Hwang Ui Jo has 'finally accepted idea’ of Nottingham Forest transfer.

Now then young Hwang, let me put this another way. That's a lovely house you have here, it would be a shame if anything were to happen to it....

Going to Forest I don't think was ever an issue, it was having to go to Oly that was a sticking point for a while.
