Agree

Sometimes it makes business sense to buy a player purely to loan them out then sell them at a profit

Perhaps but I'd argue the chances of making a profit on a 31 year old who you've signed from France & loaned to a weaker league are a bit slim.

As well as being pure shit by all accounts.

Bizarre one. Obviously done a favour for someone. On a quick look he has the same agency as Chris Wood, Panzo and quite a few Olympiakos players. Possibly a link there but it makes little sense otherwise.

We just wanted to sign him because of his name.

We'd have bought Quim if he was still playing.

What a strange affair that turned out to be . . . no wonder one or two at the club got hwung out to dry.

Best for all to move on. Good luck to the lad at his new club and I hope we got a few quid back on the reported fee we paid for him.

Hopefully, clutching at straws, him being on loan from us gives us the opportunity to build a commercial base in South Korea.

I didn't even register the loan bit . . . even though it's there in black and white. Too much swag last night! Ta for pointing it out

Can't imagine he's on huge wages anyway but hopefully they're off our books while he's on loan either way.

No chance. I don't think this signing was ever made with our first team in mind.

I await someone to jump in now telling me to give him a chance and not judge him so quickly.
Precisely the point I made to Otis.

You treat Hwang the same as your opinions on injured squad players which isn’t really fair but then you come out with your final defensive victim statement which i don’t think anyone would say anyway.

I think I know your game better than you do.

playing as a midfielder , what you expecting ?
Only latterly as a midfielder, in the prime of his career, and having a better pedigree than 90% of other players in that league?

In short: more.

(He's also only chipped in with 2 assists, and I'm assuming he's not being played at DM...)

I trust our Olympiacos friends who post on here when they say that Hwang is crap and not worth bothering with.

It's one of those things for me that there's no harm in having a quick look in pre-season training. It seems highly unlikely that he'd be kept, but at the same time no real harm in the club just hedging their bets over early summer.

I suppose contractually he's obliged to turn up on the first day of pre-season, along with Bowler, Fornah, Horvath, Panzo et al. It'll look like the battle of Helms Deep there'll be that many running about.

To be honest though if we start the season in August and Hwang is in the squad, based on the reports we've been given, then the summer will have gone seriously badly.
