Tickets cock up

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
Did anyone else get caught out with match day tickets with an incomplete barcode on?
My son had to go back to the ticket office to get another ticket and missed the first 30 minutes. He said there was a massive queue so lots of others in the same boat.

The guy at the turnstile wouldn’t admit him even though I’d got the receipt and said that he’d had to turn lots of people away

Forest need to sort out their ticketing systems.
Me and Mrs S have our Season Cards so we didn't encounter any problems last night.
However, this morning we tried to buy tickets, on line, for the Carabao Cup match versus Bury.
The advertised price for Season Card holders is £10.00.
First of all the site wouldn't allow to sign on to my customer account.
Eventually this problem was sorted.
Then, when signed in, the price returned on my basket was £15.00.
There was no was to change this and so a telephone call to the ticket office was required.
From 9:15 to 10:05 I kept trying, but the number was engaged.
So, it was into the car and off to the City Ground to queue up behind a dozen or so others for a face to face with a ticket agent.
She was excellent.
When we explained the problem she said "Oh, the on-line system is absolutely crap. You need to come in here to get you Season Card loaded with the ticket at the concessionary price.
While she was doing this I asked her if she had seen last night's game.
She looked at me and explained that up until Marinakis took over the ticket staff, who are on duty until 30 minutes before kick-off, had the perk of being allowed in to watch the matches.
Since the take-over that perk has been removed.
I think that that is a shame - and to do it to customer-facing staff and thus demotivate them is commercially unwise.
Forest still have an awfully long way to go in terms of Customer Care!

There was a guy at the Trent end who’d got through but his daughters ticket wouldn’t work. The turnstile operator told him she’d need to go back to the ticket office.

Her dad was pretty calm when he stated that he was already through the turnstile meaning he would have to leave the ground to take his daughter to the ticket office. He came to his senses and allowed them in, eventually.

It’s teething problems, I guess, but after what some fans went through last year you would think it was a priority to the club to help with the match day experience they are trying to sell to everyone.

That’s why when my kids were younger and I took them to events I’d put them through first.

Happened to us at Villa park when i went to watch a game there a few years back with my mate and his kid.

Him and his kid went through one turnstile and me the next one. We both got in and his kid didnt despite us all using a season card. My mate had to leave the ground to go get a ticket printed at the ticket office for his kid as there was no movement on it by the operator.

He then came to get back in and his season ticket wouldnt let him in, after the kid went in first. So i had to wait with his kid whilst he went and kicked off at the ticket office. He then had to purchase a ticket for himself to see the game and complain about it after. As he was Notts based it took him a few weeks to get his cash back.

My mate recently visited Glasgow to see his brother and nephew. They decided to go to the Celtic game. Purchase the tickets on the internet , press print and it doesn't work. They phone up to be told that the tickets are being posted. Tickets don't turn up on time and the end up queuing at the ground.
Seems its a football thing not necessarily Forest.

Football has all of the trappings (by that I mean money) of a big business, but none of the infrastructure, qualified staff etc that a proper customer-facing business should have.

I know of one certain Bundesliga club in my neighbourhood where the opposite is true.

Tickets can be ordered online, and then either printed at home (or at work if you’re me), posted to you by DHL next day service, or collected from the Fan Center either at the ground, the club shop in one of the city center shopping areas or the Stuttgart visitor center in the city center.

The customer service operation is brilliant, if you need help with anything.

It’s one thing German clubs do really well. But then, as they are (with a couple of notable exceptions) at least 50% owned by supporters, this is not surprising.
