Things left to do

Oh I barely read your posts, I have just never put anyone on ignore :p

HelloThor

Is it about my cube?
if we don't sign a quality midfield player then we could easily end up facing the same problems we faced last season. injuries to lansbury and vaughan and we'll struggle again.

Agreed, although I think someone who could either sit or attack (i.e. cover for Reidy) would be good.

Signing Peltier would be useful as cover for right back and DM I guess, ok its not the most exciting signing but we need depth.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Cohen, I'd like to think Fox (have we signed him) will be played at left back and Cohen could push on into midfield.

Would like to see another right back too, is lichaj going too be fit for the start of the season? If not I'd look at getting a premier league loan in. If he is is there a youth right back we could bring into the squad?

I liked that kid from Costa Rica #9 Joel Campbell, an Arsenal player. Could be a decent winger option opposite Pato. Seems quality. Would be an attractive loan option at 21 years old, played at Olympiacos last year (32 games, 8 goals)

Absolutely no chance, if Arsenal don't use him next season he'll go to a Premier league club.

He's obviously a talent, but I agree with others that there is no chance.

Personally, I thought that Junior Diaz looked very decent. Played at left back I believe. He had their winger in his pocket all game. The Costa Rica fans clearly loved him and cheered every time he got a tackle in (which was a lot).

I was just about to say we wouldn't be able to attract anyone who's playing at the World Cup but then I remembered some of Jara's performances from last season, so maybe we can.

1. Good call, but still something of a bonus signing.
2. Same there, not essential IMO.
3. Would be very handy, but again not essential.
4. No
5. Depends on attitude + what Pearce reckons to how they fit.
6. No, especially after his recent interview.

If one of the top 3 happen I'd be satisfied. If 2 happen I'd be well chuffed.

My choices would be:

1) Young understudy DM to cover Vaughan
2) Bring pace in somewhere - either wings or up front. Someone who could play both would be ideal.
3) Make sure there's funds spare for any further additions in Jan.
4) Get balls cupped - definite. Priority.

I personally think we should promote a youngster that can play DM or even just use Osborn as a rotational player. He's got bundles of energy and falls into the category of lovely left footers we seem to possess (Vaughan, Reid, Cohen and even Fox if he's on it)

I watched United U21s v Chelsea U21s and United had a right winger that game who had blistering pace, plus that James Wilson, who bagged two on his debut is meant to be a real prospect. He could be a decent risky shout for a loan move.

Just think if we can keep everyone fit and happy and competing for places then we could definitely push it this coming season providing Pearce gets us playing good football.
