The super awesome SO'D vs. McLeish thread

All Mcleish lovers/SO'D haters vs. SO'D lovers/McLeish haters debate in here.

SO'D pros:

1 point off the play-offs before getting sacked.
Players seemed to like him, any "bust ups" seemed to be productive or just rumours.
Capable of playing very good passing football (esp. Leeds)
Intelligent and professional individual.
Got good results whilst not playing particularly well.
Surprisingly decent defensive record for a time.

SO'D cons:
Worrying too much about the opposition.
Signed one or two decent players but backed them up with a bad signing.
No width.
Arguably too much tinkering.
Not quite enough passion.

McLeish pros:
Premiership and Championship experience.
Supposedly utilises more organised teams with tougher players as opposed to SO'D.
Haven't seen "his team" yet.
Passionate/more active during games.
More honest and authoritative (telling Camp to get lost etc.)

McLeish Cons:
Dull (just generally dull).
Conceding too many goals, have lost by conceding 3 goals 3 times already.
Uninspiring team selections, insipid displays to back this up.
Square pegs in round holes.
Win percentage in England must be getting low; fans of his previous two clubs aren't particularly glowing of him.
He's ginger, Forest don't do well with ginger managers.
Comes across as a yes man with owners.

Let the (un)civil war...continue.

McLeish pros:
Premiership and Championship experience. - so what? He was shite in both.
Supposedly utilises more organised teams with tougher players as opposed to SO'D. - supposedly. Says who? And it's only supposedly.
Haven't seen "his team" yet. - what team has he been playing then?
Passionate/more active during games. - which we keep losing.
More honest and authoritative (telling Camp to get lost etc.) - I don't think he's more honest, and it's hard to say he's authoritative when he was definitely going to sign a new experienced keeper then suddenly isn't.

Your SoD pros are based on measurable facts, your AMC pros are based on nothing, they're just vague and meaningless nothings, a bit like AMCs results.

But would SOD have done any better against Watford? I mean, look at his performance with BC today.

@SportsAgentJHC: Now we have the expectation of improvement as change was made + added media interest/pressure due to circus surrounding us #nffc

Watford spanked us at their place and do the same at our ground, yet people think the problem is the new manager. Maybe SO'D was right when he said we ain't as good as we think we are. Or Watford are just a very good team. But of course SO'D should have been top two with the best squad in the league. Same fools tweeting Fawaz moaning about SO'D now moaning about this manager. Deserve all we get. I'm just drunk and mad.

Okay, well tell that to McLeish fans then :)

Watford
SOD - away from home - loss by 1 goal when down to 10 men - several injuries
Mcleish - at home - loss by 3 goals - fully fit squad (?)

Blackburn
SOD - home draw
Mcleish away from home so tougher ask, but they were the out of form side - 1 win in 11 against then bottom Barnsley - loss by 3 goals

P'boro
SOD - away from home - impressive display - 1 goal win & clean sheet
Mcleish - home advantage but still a 1 goal win, no clean sheet though

SOD 3 - Mcleish 0

They're much better.

First time in their history they have a passing team. Thrown together in one season and they play us off the park. Ouch. Why can't Fawaz come from Italy.

If we don't get promotion then AMC is gone, and if I was Fawaz Id start tapping up Adkins now.

Youth Team
SOD 24 league games, 36 points = 1.5 points per game.
Which means A McL needs to get us to 69 points at end of season to be as effective as SOD.
So far: 5 league games, 5 points = 1 point per game.
Early days, but not good enough yet.
I assume he will be sacked if he doesn't do better than SOD did.
