The Road to League One

We're supposed to be on game 41, nearly all the teams around us are on 40/41 games besides Rotherham.
Who is going down?

These are the point ranges for anyone from 13th to bottom.

Luton 53 - 71
Bristol City - 50 to 65
Forest - 49 to 64
Preston - 48 to 63
Blackburn - 47 to 62
Birmingham - 45 to 60
Huddersfield - 44 to 62
Derby - 43 to 58
Coventry - 42 to 60
Rotherham - 36 to 63
Sheff Wednesday - 36 to 53
Wycombe - 33 to 48

I think we're about safe. We've got the Huddersfield and Birmingham next and we can secure our status pretty much with a result against either.

Wycombe have gone, can't see them getting maximum points.
Sheffield Wednesday don't look like they'll escape the plughole either, the points deduction saw to that.
Rotherham is a bit of a wild card, they could finish bottom or finish comfortably mid-table at this point, more likely the former.
Coventry, I think they've got enough in them to stay up.
Derby, as hilarious as that would be, I can't see them going down.
Huddersfield, quite possibly.
Birmingham look annoyingly like they'll survive again now.
Blackburn, Preston, us, Bristol City all look safe barring some awful form and results going against us.
Luton are safe pretty much.

Unless Rotherham can learn how to win a football match and / or Derby get a points deduction, the current bottom 3 will go down.

I don't consider anyone from Blackburn upwards to be in a relegation battle. Anyone on 47 points or more is safe.

I also think the current bottom three. Rotherham might put up a fight but those above them are getting results more regularly.

I also agree, current bottom 3 to go down. Derby still won't have a big enough gap to take the points hit until next season though.

If Wednesday do go down, and we can’t bring Garner back, Barry Bannan would be a great signing. Always liked Adam Reach too.

Can't stand that bellend dwarf, don't want him anywhere near our team tbh.

For me its too far for Rotherham.
At this stage you don't want the games in hand even over a few points. Their squad is small, they will be knackered and they will need to win 3 of their 4 games in hand just to get on par and make a scrap of it.

Barring a major surprise on the level of our implosion last season they are done.

Wednesday held one of the relegation spots before they kicked-off today irrespective of the points deduction.

We're way too high to worry now.

Unless Rotherham complete a Houdini-like escape, the bottom three are down. What you have to include in the calculations are the teams above them winning some of their remaining matches, too. It's not all just about Rotherham.

But if they do escape, they deserve hearty congratulations; it will be a heck of a job.

Rotherham have to play (and win!) 4 games in 8 days as well just to finish the season on time. That would be a huge ask for a squad as big as ours, let alone theirs. I'd love to see them stay up as they have shown real spirit but I suspect it will be too big of an ask now especially with Birmingham winning today,

I think they needed to beat Huddersfield today to be honest.

Rotherham v Coventry mid week.I think Rotherham will get a win. But they've left it too late for me
Derby should be safe...the *****, but a points deduction could see them swap places, but efl don't have the balls

Seriously.

Rotherham, Sheff W and Wycombe have been down for weeks. It's not going to change.

Incidentally, could anyone plot a series of results which mean we're relegated?

It would be quite fitting on Mad Mels departure for them to go down. I’d love it.

Current bottom three. 47 points will keep you safe.

Just seen the Rotherham highlights. Woodwork hit twice and missed a sitter too. A win would have made things interesting.

They really need at least 1 win from the upcoming 2 midweek games to have a chance and put pressure on others. Can't see them coping with the schedule though.

It's looking a lot like bottom three to go as the form of the bottom three isn't there. But Derby fans will still worry for a bit longer. After 37 games last season (where Rotherham are now) Barnsley had 34 points, Luton had 35. They finished on 49 and 51 respectively.
