Considering I THINK we’re better than Everton, much better than Sheffield and Burnley who barely have anything to play for (specifically Sheffield) and Chelsea will be on the beach, the results I laid out will happen. Book it, put the kids college funds on it (please don’t).

If Muric hadn't gone to the same school as Turner and Vlach, Burnley would have been 3 points behind Forest now.

Everytine I have seen Burnley and Sheff U recently in the highlights, they have given the teams a good go, you just know when charity FC rolls into town, and gifts then a goal or 2, we'll struggle to even get draws up at their places.

The Muric error only cost them 2 points so they would have been 4 points behind Forest
(effectively 5 with a way worse goal difference).
I agree Burnley and Sheffield United won’t be easy games (there aren’t any in this league).

Also add in the one previous week vs Everton.

I think at this stage I just have unrealistic anxiety about the whole thing

- I cast my mind back to our last prem relegation in ‘98-99 where we started winning after we dropped (inspired by the legend Hugo Porfirio) and think that kind of form turnaround certainly is going to happen to Burnley and Sheff U

- Last year we were the underdog story to survive, Leicester and Leeds were the Prem clubs to be shot at. Even though we have only stayed up for one season it feels like the outside world wants Luton to survive esp with PSR

- I just don’t wanna go back to the Championship, as much as I bristle over how we’re glossed over on MOTD, it’s great up here. I don’t want another era in the wilderness even though parachute payments will help obviously and is better long term.

- on some level even though Nuno is demonstrably better, I miss Cooper and am sad at what his loss represents

- I don’t want to lose some of these extremely talented players without seeing their potential blossom more at the WFCG

- the thought of going down at Burnley away scares the hell out of me, mainly cos that day in 2002 was my 2nd away trip as a teen and it was just f***ing horrible

I have to remember that ultimately that at mostly any point in last 25 years if you’d offered me a 5 game shootout in our control to decide if we get a third year in the premier league, equaling our longest stay in top flight since the 90s I would have bitten your hand off, so there’s that!

You really think we are going to get 10 points out of the last 15 available, not a chance - that is top 6 form. Our only realistic hope is if Luton get 6 points or less from their run in. Even then it could come down to goal difference. We can’t defend set pieces and we can’t protect winning positions.

My own run-in forecast (I prepared just before the Aston Villa - Away game, when we had 24 pre-point-deduction points) included the following for the last 5 games:
Everton (A) Draw
Man City (H) Lose
Blunts (A) Win
Chelsea (H) Win - do the double on the Sarvern scum
Burnley (A) Lose

We finish, after the 4-point deduction on 33 points.
Everton 32 points
Luton 31 points
Burnley 25 points
Blunts 17 points

I see our appeal starts next week... I assume we will get nowt back.
No news yet about Everton's appeal... I assume they'll get nowt back as well.

The whole post is excellent, but this struck a nerve.

I'm a big believer in Karma, and I can't help feel that the way we've treated such a dedicated and "all-in" bloke such as Cooper, and thought of him as nothing more than an "expendable asset" Predator styleee, will come back to bite us in the arse to teach people that we are little more than an "expendable asset" to the Prem ourselves.

It feels like we have to right some wrongs to earn the right to stay up, else we're gonna end up with a big invisible alien blowing our arms off.

Forest blundering about trying to avoid relegation is certainly giving me panicked „Get to da choppa!“ vibes.

That’s some hardcore karma!!

We treat Cooper badly and 100’s of thousands (might be pushing it) fans suffer.

I think paying Arter for playing with the U23s covers it.

We have 8 better GD & 1 more point, so they need 3 to finish above us.
Ignoring their results, if we get 3 draws they'd need 6pts.
We're capable of more than this. Win 1 away game and its 8pts.
Point at Chelsea or from deduction being lowered and suddenly they need that 9/10pt

It's not the most unrealistic view surely? I cant see Luton winning more than 5pts anyway, so maybe i'm just deluded.
