I'm concerned that our 4 point deduction will galvanise Everton more than it galvanises us. (And also that the PL will appeal and get it up to 6.)

Yeah - likely only to be 2 points though I reckon. I think we're unlikely to finish above them.Aren’t they supposed to get another deduction? So that’s 3x the galvanization, we’re screwed!

I really hope their fate is sealed but the time we visit. Can't see them getting much out of Chelsea after the break but then Wolves/Everton/Brighton/Sheff Utd. You'd fancy them to grab a few points there. No one mentioning Burnley who have had a huge lift, winning at the weekend and us losing 4 points. Only 4 behind with us having to play them away, we've already played them at home twice and failed to win. They aren't out of it yet!

And over the last 9 games, it hasn'tIf our squad can't match Luton over a 9 game shoot out then honestly f*** us off to league one

Fair shout on Tavares, things looked sweet for a time with him marauding down the left side providing a foil for CHO.I’m hoping we are brave and get back on the front foot. I thought we were looking pretty good until a few games ago. I think our form dip coincided with the Tavares injury. Oh, and get CHO back in the side.
I agree with the Origi / CHO statement, however things would look a little rosier if Burke hadn't made that excellent goal line clearance on Saturday. To be fair to Origi he didn't do too much wrong.Fair shout on Tavares, things looked sweet for a time with him marauding down the left side providing a foil for CHO.
Surprising that plan B has been so negative, given Nuno seemed to present as a front foot manager. Id start by dropping the origi over CHO experiment, its not working.
If we get to 30 points I can’t see Burnley beating it-with time running out they still have toI did say we could finish below Burnley a bit ago.
I was told that was nonsense!
We can see why the likes of O’Neill,Bowyer,Webb and Hodge were so useful toI agree with the Origi / CHO statement, however things would look a little rosier if Burke hadn't made that excellent goal line clearance on Saturday. To be fair to Origi he didn't do too much wrong.
Our midfield needs to contribute more goals, and assists. We don't have any of them getting near 5 goals let alone double figures, do we? Yates has never scored in the PL, ditto Sangare. And it's not like Danilo and Dominguez trouble the oppo keepers too frequently either. Plus MGW is hardly a goal machine.
In defence of them perhaps you could argue that the 4-2-1-3 formation does rather mean that it's the front four who should score the vast majority. So it's CHO (or Origi), MGW and Elanga who should be in our sights.
I was thinking along those lines too. Add Scot Gemmill to the list as well. It was a huge reason why Cloughie wanted Gary McAllister to replace Neil Webb as well.We can see why the likes of O’Neill,Bowyer,Webb and Hodge were so useful to
us in the past.
Midfielders who can score on a regular basis are like gold dust.
I agree-IF we are fortunate enough to survive this season next year looks way harder to me,I’m confident about this season - much less so about next..
I think I share your confidence, until the EPL FFP goalposts and appeals are suddenly shifted again.I’m confident about this season - much less so about next..
Me neither, admittedly I’m just a radio listener these days but it’s been a bit joyless on the whole. Quite stressful at times.I haven't enjoyed much of this premier league experience I must say. I'm 49, so I remember a lot of our latter success under Cloughie, and was dying for us to get back into the top flight. But the whole experience has been pretty miserable, I'm nervous before and during every match. I can't remember a single game these past two seasons we've won well and comfortably, possibly the recent West Ham at home, and even then we only scored the second late on.
This latest points deduction is just another kick in the balls. What I would love it to do is galvanise us all, players, fans, coaches, manager, any club staff. Let's really go for it these last 9 games, stay up and let that set the tone moving forward.
