I was in a pub in Long Eaton (twinned with Beirut) recently and was talking to the landlord who supports them up the A52 and we got to talking about our potential points deduction and I said as long as we take our punishment with the good grace that Derby County football club did that's fine by me. He couldn't see I was taking the piss. they really are hard to believe aren't they?

I see a couple of the big data-crunching agencies have now produced tables showing the probability of clubs to be relegated, and they concurr with my own multivariate analysis.

I'm not entirely sure but I think they've crunched the numbers without factoring in any points deduction, so those % figures for relegation may change significantly in five weeks time.

Not also forgetting the possibility that Everton may well have had some points back, but may well also get more deducted in the 2nd round of charges.

Just annoys me they are basically ignoring chelsea and city doing it.

I think this is the case.

We have enough points and enough rate of points to finish ahead of Luton and the other teams provided they suddenly don't go beating everything in sight and we start losing everything.

But I think even though Luton's rate is much less than 38 points we aren't hitting enough points to withstand more than about 3 points off without being in serious trouble.

6 might be possible to get over but we'd need to be winning a lot more, 10 would definitely send us down

I think we have a real chance to pick up points over the next few games.

Liverpool is obviously the hardest of the bunch, but Brighton play Roma (A) and Luton have Bournemouth (A), both just days before we play them.

Then we have Palace and Fulham at home. We should have a full squad available for these two.

13 points is possible. That would see us safe imo.

Let the VAR Gods be with us! Or, at the very least, not against us.
