The Relegation Dogfight 23/24

I've predicted us to win more often than Luton this season. Hasn't panned out that way though, hence the league positions.
Fair enough, Ashley. Was referring to the consistent predictions that Luton will win every week, not aimed specifically at you, there are plenty bigging them up constantly.

They've lost three in a row. Don't think we've managed that yet, have we?

Yes, I do think the predictions of them getting 7-10 points from their remaining games was unlikely, even before Brentford gave them a good hiding.

3 or 4 points from their remaining home games is certainly a possibility though IMO. We desperately need a win from somewhere, ultimately.

If we fail to win another game I reckon we’re toast,Ash.

I make our final 3 games all winnable (despite our poor record on the road).
On paper, yes. But Chelsea and Newcastle away aside, we are shocking on the road (not just results, but some of the performances have been absolutely dreadful too).

In contrast, I think we are decent at home and give most teams a good game, even if we don't always get a result.

Knowing us, we'll probably get 4 points at home to City and Chelsea but get comfortably beaten at Sheffield United and Burnley (which I would absolutely take if it kept us up, but still...!).

Not as bad as last season-we were robbed at Manchester United and should have beaten
Wolves and Luton. We should have got something at West Ham too.
I think we can get something at Sheffield United and Burnley.

Is there enough desire in the team to stay up?
Worrying that recent performances have dropped off and key players have gone missing. Nuno has really disappointed me by the fact that the defence has been appalling. I expected him to really stop the goals leaking but nothing has changed. If only Sangare had turned out decent and we had a real quality tall CH

Better than last season is a low bar to be fair! But I've seen enough horror shows on the road these past couple of years to make me fear the worst from our away games. Losing I can accept, but some of the performances (and at times lack of fight) are embarrassing.

Home games on the other hand we at least show a bit of fight and I do think the crowd really helps. That Chelsea game could be as important as Arsenal at home last season.

I should have said significantly better than last season when we were pitiful away.
I think we’ll win at Sheffield United and draw at Burnley.

I reckon a draw at the Blunts (most likely conceding the usual comedy goal from a set piece for their late equaliser) and a defeat at Burnley with the usual tepid away performance.

I have a feeling we'll beat Chelsea though. Maybe that will be enough?

Call me a sucker but I actually think we’ll pull our finger out and show up from here on in. I think we’ll put in a good performance tomorrow despite the likely defeat which will blow some confidence back in. From there we’ll get the job done against Sheffield United and Chelsea with 4 points before a waka waka party at Burnley.

I know in the gloom and fear about our away form that that feels a bit clutch at straws hopeful but I just have a feeling we’ll get over the line in the end.

Does anyone know what happens to Everton if they go into administration?

I assume it's an automatic 10 point deduction, but it wouldn't surprise me if the EPL didn't have that rule.
