The season restarts today-I reckon by close of play on 21 January it might be clearer which way our season is heading.
We face a difficult trip to Manchester United and tricky looking home games against Chelsea and Leicester-also,crucially,we take to the road with jaunts against fellow strugglers Southampton and
Bournemouth in ‘must not lose’ fixtures.
Added to this,we need to navigate potential banana skin cup ties at Blackburn and Blackpool to keep alive our dreams of a quick return to Wembley.
Let’s hope Steve Cooper has worked his magic during the international break.
Note-Also a League Cup quarter-final if we beat Blackburn.

Difficult to see us taking anything from Old Trafford and the Leicester home game will be tough now they've rediscovered form. Chelsea are a weird one, they have the players to tear us a new one but don't seem to be anywhere near the level they should be at so as far as I'm concerned that's a winnable home game.

It is all quite speculative though as were got no idea how teams will return from the break but based on the first half of the season I'll predict

United L
Chelsea W
Soton D
Leicester L
Bournemouth D

5 points from 5 games. Not sure if that's good or not at this stage to be honest.
