The image of Football supporters

I had a discussion with a few friends, we all support different clubs and we had basically the same thoughts.

Talking about the disorder going on around the country and that clubs were calling games off we thought that this was the ideal time for supporters to raise their image.

Midweek saw the Citys two teams play and the supporters get praised by the Police.

SO we felt games at the weekend should go ahead, especially in London, it's not like they dont have enough Police in the city.

Thoughts??

Nice idea, bit I'm sure normal service will be resumed by the usual suspects as soon as this diversion is out of the way.

Games at the weekend should go ahead, it sends out the right message that life goes on as normal for the majority of us. It's a shame that people don't feel able to watch Tottenham play Everton without the fear of something bad happening.

However, anyone who remembers that attitude of Thatcher's government towards football supporters in the 1980s will be wary of troublemakers latching themselves onto a game of football, and risk tarring us all with the same brush.

Someone on radio Nottm postulated that the trouble causers abandoned the football to smash stuff up... Unbelievable!

That said, I wasn't at the City Ground

I'm informed that the only reason the Spurs game is off is that the White Hart Lane area is still technically a crime scene, and the postponement is not a result of the threat of unrest.

The scene of Harry Redknapp's face is a crime!
