I never get this argument. What difference would it make to his legacy if he started at Cardiff?

He has managed those sides from the start because he is the best at managing world class players. The best by a country mile.

Whatever Pep does, everybody else does 3-4 years later - and by the time everybody has caught on he has developed a new way of playing which is superior to that one. That is a revolutionary coach and he does it over and over again.
It's much easier managing teams already full of stars backed by millions.

If the next manager to take over at Newcastle won them the league will he be classed in the same bracket as Clough?

Like I said, not his fault but to be the very best you need to be able to do it where the odds are not in your favour and you are up against it.

Friday night and Saturday night.

Pretty straightforward.
For you, maybe. I didn't need 24 hours between pulling myself off at that age.

Jet was my first love.

And then came Eurotrash and I'd often find many things in that half hour to excite me. After, an erotic thriller featuring Shannon Tweed would often be on channel 4 so I'd watch that too. I used to get up for my Saturday job as a very tired youth, indeed.

In the week, I'd often rush home from school to catch a glimpse of Carol Vorderman showing a bit of stocking top on Countdown. I'm still very keen on her, to be honest.

It's surprising I wasn't blind by the end of my teens.

"Will you cook me sumFING like my good mate Gordan WAMSEY?"

So is Messi not the very best because he didn't start at Elche & drag them up the divisions?

I just don't get the argument really, he is the very best at what he does so he manages the very best players. The guy is a genius, I am less concerned about his trophy hauls (which are phenomenal), I am judging him more on his sides - and they are often as close as you can get to perfection. When he leaves City there will be a big drop off in standards.

He improves every player he gets his hands on.

Grealish comes across alright these days, to be fair to him.

He's got a good mix of the old school and new school mentality.

Micah Richards is a good laugh but he doesn't half have a high opinion of himself. He genuinely seems to think he was a world class footballer, must be because he hangs out with a lot of them he's convinced himself he's in the same company. I saw the other day he said he was better than Gary Neville.

A quick reminder, he's a month older than Kyle Walker.

Retired at the age of 30.

I like how Richards comes across but I think he decided very early on to give it up with the money he'd earnt. His time at Villa was like Harry Arter's at Forest.

I just hope the Richards surname doesn't then see Omar in the same boat.

I find him quite insufferable

I'm not keen on the banter-era of punditry but I get it. Richards is good character in that mode. Under the surface he offers decent insight.
