The Demise of Liverpool FC.

I watched it in a pub, which was a novelty in those days, as was the fact it was on a Friday if memory serves. And the pub was in Manchester, so when that goal went in it was absolutely buzzing. Plus pubs still had to shut at 11 so everyone just drank as fast as they could back in those days 😜

Liverpool fans chanting 'boring, boring Arsenal' as the Arsenal team parade the league trophy around Anfield.... brilliant memory!

BBC article pointedly makes no mention of which set of supporters it was.

I don't usually buy into the "it's always their fault" kind of narratives, but surely naming and shaming is an important step in fixing this sort of behaviour?

The Tube is full of adverts now encouraging men to call out other men's behaviour when they harass women. Wouldn't a similar campaign with football fans be a good idea?

All I know is avoiding the issue isn't going to help anyone.

It almost seems like they are protected from on high!

Would have thought in this modern age of mobile phone cameras and CCTV everywhere their fans could no longer get away with such atrocities. When they played in the recent Champions League final, there was clear and unequivocal video evidence of ticketless fans climbing over barbed wire fences.

No punishment, instead they are suing UEFA for badly organising the event and the venue, and I have read somewhere they have support from the Premier League and even the government.

I am not saying UEFA and the French police didn't make mistakes (god knows UEFA are a mess) but Liverpool FC have to be accountable for at least some it surely?

I'll guarantee they'll find the scum...then Liverpool will send a statement, something like it will not be tolerated...."From both sets of supporters"

They'll take zero responsibility as a football club, or City. It's vile

"In a joint statement, Manchester City and Liverpool said the incidents were "wholly unacceptable" and "hugely disappointing"".

Close enough.

Community shield at the dippers was terrible. Staff told to keep id's hidden until at entrances, keep tickets safe, don't wear club attire outside because "Both clubs have previous blah blah blah." Yet Man City didn't even sell out their allocation, didn't break many seats, didn't break any sinks or toilets, didn't piss in the stands etc etc etc.

Surprised no one posted here after the defeat against Brentford... Liverpool really not in a good place (Brentford) looking bereft f top players but some strange choices last night as well...

The absolute best thing about this is the Sean Dyche lookalike in the white shirt is normally the noisiest Scouser I know…. I’m milking this all day.
