The 12th man.

It isn't a function of novelty: it is a function of a fixed number of seats in the stadium that is significantly less than the number of supporters wanting those seats.
Also, I would argue that the Club benefits from having a supporter base that has retained its working class roots, and that still is dominated by people who see the live game at the stadium as an outlet for all their emotions. I think the crowd volume graph is an ogive, where 100% is never reached, but there are continuous small increments in the volume so the curve is gently upwards, but never reaching 100%
Many clubs would argue the same. Would be great if it was true but, taking off the red tinted spectacles, we're no more working class than many others.

What we are is a big club, with a dedicated large fan base, that has experienced nothing like this for 20+ years. The combination of a big club experiencing something 'new' is definitely the key factor in the atmosphere this year and sadly the novelty will wear off the longer we're here. Hopefully premier league entitlement doesn't set in and the atmosphere survives, as its what has made us special this year.

It has to be said our away support has been phenomenal again this season.

Always making themselves heard on the TV and radio, out singing the home fans as per usual.

Well done, proud of you all. 🍻

I watched the last 10 minutes of the game on Danish television and my 8 year old son watched it with me.

While Chelsea was putting the pressure on in the final minutes, he said to me, that the Chelsea fans were very loud and hadn't given up.

He was quite impressed, when I told him, that the fans were shouting Come On U Reds and it was the travelling Forest fans, he could hear...

Rocka I’ll be honest I thought our away support was quieter than I expected considering the context of the game.
Tbh mate it's really difficult to get it going at Molineux. If you ever go you'll know what I mean.

They seat away supporters in a long but narrow lower tier along the length of the pitch (think lower Brian Clough but narrower). When you eventually manage to hear the opposite end singing something, by the time you've got going they've stopped

I’ve been to Molineux more than a few times but no away games for me anymore. You’re right. But they were more than audible on the TV for large parts of the match. Top work again

Everytime you start a chant at Wolves either the timing is out with the rest of the support or they just don't join in. It's not just that you are spread out so much - the stand is also a way back from the pitch so the acoustics are really poor in the lower tier - it's probably why they use it for away support.

You just end up having your own little sections of chanting instead of the support as a whole - that's what happened today so lots of noise just not all together. West Ham was similar but that was in each tier instead of in one long tier.

I’m not knocking our away support just that it didn’t come across on my feed. SC commented that our fans were all he could hear so that’s good enough for me.
Expecting last seasons level of volume on Friday especially if the players give as much effort as yesterday.

At molyneux It ends up with each block singing its own song cos you can’t hear anyone in blocks further along so you never get everyone joining in on same song full volume - thought it was pretty good myself. Plus it was an absorbing game everyone was a bit on the edge.

Watching West Ham at the Cottage atm. Think there's still some Forest fans there singing Cooper's name.

Stood amongst the other fans is awful any time, but the only way I can get to see Forest is when we are on the road and quite local to me, so I pick up spare home fan tickets. I normally try to get tickets close to where our fans are for the noise and atmosphere - not so nice to take the abuse as clearly I'm seen as the enemy - but it's worth it to see my team.

At Fulham it was f**king awful having to stand there and listen to the gin drinking tawts, many of them leaving from 82 mins onwards. But to stand and listen to the absolutely amazing noise from our fans throughout the game, especially while SC stood in front of them accepting fault was humbling to see and feel what this guy means to so many.

Long live the 12th man, more so than ever for the next match. God Save the King (Coops).

Was clearly difficult for us to get things going at Wolves but was still very much heard.

Was on a corporate so sat on my hands opposite and was still louder than anything from the non standing home end!

Great effort. I had a corporate ticket directly behind the home bench. Tbf, it's a fantastic "fan experience" in terms of food, drink and toilets. Give me b block any day though.

Nice one !!

I was in Putney End P2 AA 31 - so lower tier but had a cracking view as they left the pitch at the end.
