Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

It’s simple. Which side of the fence are you on?

FFS, Turner was NEVER getting to that. There is no way that was a mistake by any goalkeeper.

Let's hope that Nuno, if he comes, can help drive down the number of errors our guys do make though.

Those saying how toxic the atmosphere will get sound just like those they criticise for saying what Marinakis will be thinking. It's almost as though you want it to be that way to prove your point.

Just get behind the team FFS.

Le roi est mort. Vive le roi!
It was 100% a goalkeeper mistake. A ball coming into the 6 yard box from distance should be dealt with by the keeper. That's his domain that he should rule. Any goalkeeper worth his salt will tell you that.

Having a debate at work at the mo and wondered what the consensus would be on here. Would you rather:

- Be relegated back to Champ while keeping Cooper, or
- Stay up in the Prem without Cooper?
All depends. The latter is no guarantee it will be for a further subsequent season and the manager leaves us in a worse position - league, financial, fan base etc. The former I would have confidence he would bring us back up, learn and be a better chance of a longer PL survival.

Sometimes you need a short term loss to provide long term success.

Why should I be any different to anyone else?

For the record - Please tell me where I have advocated criticism of a manager before he is in post? I don't believe I have, certainly not deliberately.

All I have said is that if you consider that it is acceptable to criticise a manager then you have to accept that it is also acceptable to criticise his replacement and that it is down to the individual to determine when that is allowable. If someone does decide it is acceptable before he is appointed (for the record I don't) then that is up to them.
You're not any different, you are free to criticise anyone on here. Omar has shown that to be the case and every one took his musings very well.

People have made some criticisms of Steve Cooper after managing the team for 55 premier league games. You are free to criticise the new man after he's managed 0 games. It's your pergative. Whether you deem that reasonable amount of time to come up with valid criticisms thats is up to you. I would suggest that is unreasonable but people are different.

So, having agreed that people can criticise the new manager whenever they want it turns out we are in agreement after all?

I like a happy ending. :)

Well, I'm confused.
Apparently it's fine to criticize or praise a player before they've kicked a ball in a Garibaldi (just take a look at how many armchair experts write off a player before they've even signed and then spend that player's entire stay here saying 'I told you so' loudly), but not OK to do the same to a manager?

I feel rancid for even saying this but:
Seeing on how the club is trying to get a conveyor belt of Brazilian players then having a Portuguese speaking coach makes sense.
I'm going to sit in a corner and maybe have a little cry.
STEVIE COOPER
Yeah I know how you feel. A Portuguese speaker does make sense. It makes sense that Santos will see this as a good opportunity to prove himself back in the Premier League. It even makes sense that if EM feels Cooper has to go eventually, now is the time.

Of course football has never been about making sense, otherwise we’d still be plodding along in the second division.

Thanks for the memories Steve 😢

Those 23 years changed me from a positive proud and hopeful young man to a negative bitter spiteful middle aged football fan. He changed all of that, he made me forget about how cold and sinister the sport is. Treated us like family instead of customers. Like he owed us the privelage rather than the other way around. A top class manager and an even better human being. A genuine rarity in this sport.

What a two years it has been

Thank You Steve Cooper ❤️

I always thought we should replace cooper when he hit his ceiling but I honestly don't think he had and I not sure nuno is the step up in tactics that will take us on the next step. All the best coops I'm sure the crystal palace job will help you progress in your managerial journey and look forward to you eventually taking the England job

Sad to see Steve go but at least he hasn't been replaced with an unknown manager, he does have a decent record. We'll see now whether our team does have any decency.

I would probably go for option A as strange as that sounds. Forest have largely been crap for my entire adult life but for the last couple of years under Cooper we were a Forest family again. If Nuno comes in and we win a few then of course most fans will be happy but loyalty doesn’t exist in today’s world and that leaves a bad taste in my view.

If I ever see Steve in the street, he's going to get an awkward, uncomfortable hug.
And I'm not a person who likes hugs.
