Cooper's going nowhere. Marinakis may be many things, but he isn't daft. He knows that replacing Cooper at this point would be as unpopular as a burger van at a vegan festival. Plus getting some unknown quantity from abroad like this Irritatedoldarsehole bloke would be a tremendous risk to our Premier League status at this point in our journey.

Let's translate this...
Iraola was a shoe-in to replace José Luis Mendilibar Etxebarria of Sevilla if he left having lost the Seville Cup. He didn't, so now Iraola needs a job. His people need to link him to some job to show both availability and level. Coincidentally ( not) rumours suggest he *could* go to Nottingham Forest if there was an available job. It's widely thought that Marinakis is trigger happy but hasn't fired anyone for at least 10 weeks. If Cooper was to get the sack, Iraola would like it to be known he would like to be considered. It makes Marinakis would choose someone like Iraola.

This guy is the best thing to happen to our club in recent years, closely followed by EM taking us over.
He earned a lot of credits by getting us up, a few were cashed in during parts of last season and the fans rewarded him by sticking by him. Those credits were reinstated towards the end of the season and as far as I’m concerned we owe him
big time.
Yes, he’s made mistakes but he’s learned from them.
I can’t see him scarpering because he’s onto something good here.

He has to be aware that he's taking an absolutely huge risk leaving here before he's fully ready to take over another Premier League team with massive expectations and none of the credit he has in the bank here.
He doesn't strike me a big risk taker when it comes to his own career.
