Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

It’s simple. Which side of the fence are you on?

Well, that sounds like the final nail in the coffin.

If a contract has been on the table since May I can't get my head around him not signing it.

He could have resigned at any time if personal circumstances required it, and not signing it has just created uncertainty and doubt.

I think I’d of signed it at HT last night for a bigger pay off :ROFLMAO:

I would hazard a guess that it’s been off the table for a good few weeks and certainly not as of today.

If we play a three of Dennis - Awoniyi or Surridge - Johnson we then have little space for MGW and I don't see any occasion where Coops drops both him and Lingard.
I see you and raise you, drop Jonno then and put in MGW with Brennan on the bench

Let‘s be honest here - Nottingham Forest owe Steve Cooper.

Big time.

He came into the club last season, when the team was absolutely on its arse, and some how, improbably, magically, and against all logic, expectation, reason and probability, managed to get them promoted.

For the first time in 23 years.

We often read that there is no loyalty in football, but it seems clear to me that Steve Cooper as a coach, has something about him, to do what he did last season. That was not a fluke, that was not a result of other sides crumbling under pressure (sorry, Colin Calderwood) that was a bunch of players fused into a coherent unit playing exciting, attractive football, without fear.

That the club - well, perhaps, one man - is considering binning him off now, at the first sign of poor form, is a little disappointing. Even in this entitled, I-want-it-now modern era, there is an argument that Steve Cooper deserves the opportunity to turn it around. Forest are what, two points from 16th/17th? Not exactly the Grand Canyon of gaps, is it?

And any new man brought in cannot touch the squad until January. That is almost three months away (yes, World Cup, yadda yadda).

Stuart Pearce (quoted above) is right. Not for the first time, either.

I think Stevie C deserves a big show of support from the fans against Villa. Players too. Hopefully Marinakis will come on the pitch after a few ouzo’s and ‘do a Deliah’. I would sing if he told me to..
This 100% come on forza sort a banner it may make no difference to marinakis but even if the worst does happen after that game at least he knew he had the fans support

I do not know how characteristic of the entire Forest fanbase this forum is, but I get the impression that the problem with EM's ownership of Forest is not his decisions, or his intentions, or his level of support but the fact that he is, at least most of the times, out of sync with the mentality of the majority of the fanbase.

There might be something in this!

I mean if you believe that then that's your choice. I don't.

Yep, I'd love it if we washed our hands of Mendez
I don't disagree with that Alf, but wherever any 'blame' for his signing lies, I'm not convinced that Lodi should be written-off just yet. Albeit only on fairly brief occasions so far, but I've seen enough to indicate he's player with genuine quality once he's in a side that is playing with more cohesion and belief.

I must have missed the Facebook live stream where he says he’s gonna sack everyone left right and centre.

I love Steve, he's done so much for our club in such a short space of time, and he just gets Forest. He's the best fit of a manager we've had since at least Davies, if not Clough himself. He gave us that magical day at Wembley and got us back to the promised land after so many years of shite, so getting rid of him is just unthinkable to me.

Even if we didn't score another point this season I'd be proud to go down with him as our manager and give him the time and latitude to get us back up next year.
