Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

It’s simple. Which side of the fence are you on?

Weird that this is given so much attention at the start of the article, but Cooper exiling Worrall from training is down in the small print at the bottom. Hardly Marinakis’s fault anyway.
Because DT has been after the Greeks, and their management appointees, for a long time, You do have to take everything he writes in the knowledge that there's an agenda.

EM could appoint Ancelotti, sign Mbappe and win the Champions League and DT would still be after him.

Cooper played with fire and got burnt in the end.

No doubt he loves the fans, club, City and all that, but it became a constant shield to hide poor results. All the while antagonising the owner more and more in the process.

Poor Marinakis that Cooper delivered him promotion and survival. However will he cope. Maybe we should set up a fundraiser for Marinakis.

Cooper was never going to win that battle. I wonder if he will reflect on whether he played the politics game well or badly.

I doubt he will care. He'll look back with a sense of pride on his achievements and a fond memory of the bond with the fans and the city, whilst he prepares for life at a better run club than ours like Palace.

Of course he’ll care, this was his dream job.

Key word is "was."

Got bored of working for an unrealistic, intolerant boss as alluded to by those who know him better than we do.

It happens, people move on and find something better and look back at their previous employment and go "well, that was actually shit"

I don’t buy that, Cooper seems untouchable for criticism, and he used that to his advantage. He’s managing with the big boys now. It’s not shit, it’s a tough ruthless business.

I don’t buy that.

Well that's your assumption I guess, to coin a phrase.

But the DT article on this thread earlier suggests otherwise. You can choose to believe he's outright lying but I suspect there's an element of truth at the minimum to the suggestion Cooper was interested in the Palace gig in summer.

I am beginning to suspect it was wearing thin with the players in the end. The incident with Worrall. “We don’t kill players for mistakes” but subbing them at halftime. Seven changes after a heavy defeat might go down well with the fans but will have the squad questioning whether he picked the right team in the first place.

I’m playing devil’s advocate to an extent, but when your biggest strength is togetherness and motivation, and even that doesn’t seem to be working, you’re in trouble.

This is unfortunately against the law, whether you like that or not, and could get the forum into legal bother.

OK?

When you biggest strength is togetherness, you don't ship half your team out and replace them with 13 more charlatans.

We got lucky last season as it was everyone against us, this season it isn't.

Charlatan is an interesting description of Murillo. And quite a few others who I suspect will prove a lot of people wrong.

I like how lots of players are displying their appreciation of SC on social media - I would guess this is not the norm and speaks volumes.

I hope they get to say good bye appropriately - probably just as Santo arrives for his first training session.

We get that you've got an Owner-Boner. No need to keep shoving it down people's throats.

He will thrive at Palace if he goes there, proper community club, owner is a Palace fan too.
Always had a soft spot for them, this will make it even bigger.

Quietly Dougie Freedman has established himself as quite a high level sporting director there. Last month there were f***ing rumors of Dougie being an option for sporting director at Man United.

Murillo was asking for Richarlisons shirt during the Spurs game... Should have been kicking him into the stand instead of hugging him as he slowly walked off.

Football has changed a lot. Lots of the players, regardless of who they play for, are quite chummy with each other in their personal time. Murillo won't be with Richarlison but will probably look up to him as a Brazilian who's done well for himself in this league, not a huge amount of them. There's no longer the sort of hatred that Man Utd and Arsenal players had for each other in the Ferguson/Wenger days.

As long as our players put in 100% on the pitch then I don't care what they do after.
