Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

Just for reference

Coopers got a 54% win percentage.
Coached extensively at England Youth level.
Managed two seasons in the Champs & achieved play offs in both.
He's got a clear vision of his end product & how to achieve it.
He wants the ball.

From where we are to that doesn't seem to much of a hardship. He wouldn't come here if he didn't feel he could achieve it.

Are we now suggesting its entertainment over everything?
I think Cooper is the best of the candidates I've probably heard of, as likely the best fit with the reported Dane Murphy football ethos.

Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

I think that's good.....but......it kinda reads a bit like "Hughton got Brighton playing some good stuff at times" too

With all respect, it took Hughton about 30 games to even realize fullbacks are supposed to provide width in attack these days and his managerial 'last stand' was route 1 with Lyle f***ing Taylor as the target

Cooper is more modern in his approach, not saying he's the definitive answer and that he'll turn this shit show around over night but I would feel 100x more comfortable with him in charge

Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

I'd be reasonably happy with Cooper. Perhaps not the exciting left field appointment some of us were hoping for, but he has a good recent track record in this league, is good at developing young players and sounds like he could fit into the new set up. We could do a lot worse.

Can we have a Chris Cohen and Andy Reid dream team. Handsome, athletic, cuddly, plays guitar and not adverse to pissing in your drinks. It's everything all rolled into two.

On the bright side no incoming manager could be as bad as hugton

I don’t know; Boris Johnson would run him pretty close?

*Fingers crossed for a handsome foreign coach in a turtle neck sweater who plays high tempo attacking football*

.... Forest target Steve Cooper

He could roll the turtle neck up over his face, that would be an improvement from the start, bloke could eat a roast beef dinner through a letter box.

Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

Steve Cooper and Chris Wilder will likely be the preferred candidates

Both combine a knowledge of the English game, which Randall has previously referenced, with offering something more progressive tactically.

I suspect Dane Murphy will favour Cooper, due to his age and record of success with younger players, but Wilder is probably more gettable.

Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

Rather then names we need to know the manager fits into to Murphy plan as anything else will just hold us back.

Sadly we are in such a crisis being already cut adrift at the bottom that this season isn’t about wider plans anymore it’s just about survival.
Whatever Danes instincts are I just can’t see him being allowed to bring in anyone other than an experienced championship manager at present. There’s no longer term at the moment-f*** up the next 10 games and we are odds on down.

Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

We've gone from managers who could fire us to the Premier League, to managers who can avoid us falling into the abyss of League One. All the while watching turgid, negative football. Who would choose to be a Forest fan?

Sounds a bit too positive. Very worrying. It’s a no from me.

Would prefer Jack lester. Boy has got pedigree. Didn’t he once have a shit on a dance floor?

Dunno but I don’t want any of that explaining his thinking, insightful gash SOD gave us. Give me some brash cockney calling everyone a **** and doing an interview with his mouth full of Mars bar.

I think Dane really wants someone who looks worse in a cream jacket than him. Someone to stand next to him at the supporters club award ceremonies and make him look like Don Johnson. Cooper ticks this box.

Successive playoff finishes with Swansea City... who had recently been in the Premier League (for seven years) and were still receiving parachute payments

Not being funny but you'd expect most managers to make the playoffs in those circumstances

Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50

I’m looking forward to seeing him name 2 defensive midfielders on his first team sheet.

Cooper reminds me of Karanka, defensive to a degree, did a job once and fell out with everyone in the process. If Cooper was applying for jobs to leave Swansea who where in the top 6 he will be speaking to his agent after one goal scored here.
