Might be a case of adding increased competition for Darlow. De Vries isn't getting any younger and will no doubt likely remain second choice to Darlow (even if this is nothing more than a rumor).

According to Wikipedia he was wanted by Man United, Napoli and Arsenal, so this could be some coup if we got him especially as he's only 20. It would make financial sense as well with FFP as if the rumours are to be believed we rejected 4.5 mil for Darlow in January, so if we can get anywhere near that and buy this guy for less we could make 2 million profit and potentially have a better player.

Don't see this happening tbh. Not really in need of and overhaul at GK and defence, further forward is where SP needs to spend money and take a few chances. This isn't a risk worth taking

If we splashed the cash on a new keeper then we'd have to sell Darlow. It just wouldn't make sense otherwise, with FFP looming. The money needs spending elsewhere.

If Darlow gets injured, we need a keeper capable of being number 1 in a Championship winning side or we will be compromised in any promotion push we might make. We've been bloody lucky to be able to bring Darlow through and he's a fine, improving first choice but we need more than Evtimov in reserve. FFP is one thing, adequate cover is quite another. As we have seen, even what might look to be adequate cover is often not. The keeper is the first area you need not to be weak in.
Our biggest down fall in the Hart era was Darren Ward in net.

He's an absolute toddler in terms of goalkeeping. Yes, he's made some mistakes, haven't all the team this season? I'll refer to the late Great Cloughie about building a team from the back via the spine. Darlow hasn't had a clue who is going to play in front of him from match to match, due to injuries: no wonder sometimes the kid is not at his 100% best. The back 5 HAVE to communicate. It's why the best defences work so well, much is instinct, the rest is communication. With an everchanging personnel in front of him, I think he's acquitted himself very well, on the whole. He's still learning himself FFS.
As a point of interest, who would you sign, for what fee, who would you consider (within that fee range) that is an improvement and what fee would you sell Darlow for at current ability?

Evtimov looked way out of his depth when he came on at Leeds.
I thought he looked alright and we kept a clean sheet didn't we so he couldn't have done that bad?
There's other areas of the team we need to be addressing when we already have 3 keepers here.

I thought he looked identical to Darlow when he made his forced debut. Not without good reason too, coming of the bench for a young gk with your team hanging on must really concentrate the mind!

Bringing on a young keeper for their debut in the last minutes of a game is not really a reflection on them. He will learn from that, and the more games he plays the better he will become.

At the minute Darlow is good, but not great. He's still susceptible to shots from range for some reason. Next year could be a 'breakout' year for him though, where he really steps up to the next level. I'd rather we kept the back line settled

I don't want us to sign a player from that league ever again. If we still have scouts out there, why? And if they're the same scouts who've been out there before, why are they still employed..?

Darlow is apparently off, and that's why he was left out of the team towards the end of last season.
I have a mate who claims to be ITK with Darlow's new woman. Said his mind wasn't on the job and he asked to be left out. Also said he knew QPR would win when we went to Loftus Road as there was so much unrest behind the scenes.
