“There is no doubt that Clattenburg has huge credibility in this field and is someone I hugely admire, but the question that needs to be asked is: Has Clattenburg got the freedom to question publicly the behaviour of Forest as a club for their unacceptable response to this incident?”

What unacceptable behaviour was that then exactly? Have you got some further allegations to make?

Mark Clattenburg being 'used like a puppet' as Premier League referees 'bemused' by rules

"Former Football League assistant Martin Cassidy, now the chief executive of Ref Support, does fear that Clattenburg could be a partisan tool to justify ref abuse.....He told PA: I genuinely fear that Clatts may be used like a puppet to give illegitimate behaviour credibility and by proxy justify ref abuse. I feel more clubs should call upon referees’ experience to explain law at every level of football."

How contradictory is that statement!
Clattenburg is being used as "a puppet by Forest". "More clubs" should make a similar appointment.

I didn't read it as contradictory. I read it that he means he wants clubs consulting currently serving refs for explanations, rather than daring to appoint someone independent who no longer fears for their job security and doesn't have to toe the refereeing line.

I appreciate your irony Congo.

I'd assume that relates to Marinakis storming down the tunnel to confront the ref.
I guess. Although unless "Former Football League assistant Martin Cassidy, now the chief executive of Ref Support" was present in the tunnel, it remains hearsay. And I'm not sure why a club's refereeing consultant would have anything to say about it either.

Bet you the Mirror had nothing to say about Arteta's unhinged outburst after their Newcastle defeat.

PGMOL are probably desperately trying to smear Clattenburg because they’re terrified he will turn up at their gaff with his mate Giant from Gladiators, who will then proceed to make mincemeat of the entire shower of them.

I notice Paul Tierney has NOT been charged with behaving improperly, even though it's his not knowing (or deliberately failing to apply) the laws that caused all this.

'we failed to ensure our staff don't behave in an improper way'

So that's why calm head Steven Reid gets punished and pushy pushy assistant ref gets let off.

Perhaps we're facing a points deduction for failing to not adhere to FFP regs too.

Have we heard any thing from the PGMOL regarding Saturday, I just don't don't understand. They've apologised loads of times this seasons for ref errors, Liverpools offside goal got them grovelling, realised the VAR tapes and everything. Why haven't we at least just had a standard apology letter. Tierney not applying the laws of the game needs explaining to us.

I hope we fire back with something regarding the linesman pushing Reid around everywhere. I mentioned this the other day and I'd love to know what the response is. Imagine what would happen if one of our staff started shoving an official around.

I just can't see us letting this go, especially someone like Marinakis, so I wonder if we're planning a fairly meaty and public intervention with PGMOL, hence the radio silence.
