Just seen it.

He should be getting the key to the bloody city for beating the sheepshaggers, not get sacked!

Thinking about it a 2-0 win over Derby is not good enough, should have been at least 8-0.

Hence why he got sacked.

I always wonder why managers are sacked after a win..

I guess its that they already know they are going to sack them before the game, but tell them after as they'll obviously have no one there..

Bit of a vibe killer though isn't it!

Always liked Southgate, so I feel sorry for him.

They'll probably get Gordon Strachan in now.

Quoth me, elsewhere:

You know what? I hope the ***** stay down now. That is absolutely f***ing disgraceful. Sell his best players then he keeps them right up there anyway, wins a game and is sacked.

This is even more retarded than County sacking McParland. In fact I'd say both are deserving of some sort of unfair dismissal claim. I repeat the decent Clough's adage of old - if a Chairman sacks a manager he employed in the first place, he should go himself.

How the f***ing hell is anyone supposed to achieve consistency? Boro have as good a chance of winning the division as anyone and a better chance than probably any team bar one, which to my mind would leave them second and up.

Between this and all the bullshit you hear from the 'premier' league, I sometimes wonder what happened to the sport? When are chairmen going to accept that most clubs will fail most of the time, because there's only one winner in a game or a league or a cup? New rules - expectations must be set no higher than a 'top 5 finish' for a manager, and whatever is set can and must be sufficient to keep a manager employed. Being top and clear in the championship at this stage is not something anyone could guarantee, no matter how hard they try. I can't imagine what else he has gone for.

The really f**ked up thing is Boro and Ipswich - two similar clubs, size wise, and one seems to have completely the opposite attitude to the other when it comes to management.

Forest banter?
I guess we're playing them soon at the Riverside. Could work either way for them. Depends if they get anyone in before we play them. Surprised actually. Thought Boro were just getting it together

Yeah I don't understand how sacking a manager like that can be a fair dismissal. Were either Boro or County underperforming? I wouldn't say so myself.

Needed doing a long long time ago but a bit bizarre timing.

Oh the attraction of Direby County!

Derby really are an unglamorous side aren't they. They had their spell under Clough, but it never made them world famous like our golden era did us, that must really burn them. Thinking about it, to teams for whom they're not "a Derby", D*rby must be like playing Scunthorpe or Yeovil ... or Notts even :)
