This lurch towards conspiracies and corruption does worry me a little and it's pervading every sector of society now be it health, criminal justice, education or politics.
The idea that some nefarious mandarins or apparatchiks have some grander plan to topple Forest seems a bit bizarre to me. Shady shit goes on all over the place but I really don't think the Premier League referees are meeting up in their masonic lodges plotting the downfall of Marinakis. One might argue the counter that the club have become more preoccupied with all this shite after the points sanction and PSR rulings as somewhat of a diversion from that in a typical move out of the Tory party playbook.
The decisions were shite yesterday (I'd go two penalties rather than three mind) but there's been shite decisions ever since I started watching football and before that too, VAR or not, I wonder where our current narrative will take the players (we can play shite and just blame the refs). 2 good finishes from Everton which could have been cut out if we'd thought to close the shot down a bit better or Sels hadn't dived like a falling redwood.
It goes against the spirit of the club somewhat too (when we all harp on about keeping traditions) when we consider what our greatest manager used to say about referees and his attitude towards them, I wonder if that approach would curry more favour than our current tac.
I find it all a bit embarrassing to be honest and if say Sheffield United were coming out with it I don't think I'd be paying much heed or have much sympathy
