Snatchday 1: Nottingham Forest Vs the PGMOL

I don't know why anyone would question the integrity of referees, it's not on they just wouldn't be corrupted.....except for the one we had against Anderlecht, oh and in Italy, oh and in Spain, oh and in Africa, oh and Greece, oh and Turkey, oh and South America......but except for those I don't know why
Some folk will take what they are told by those in authority as gospel and never question it. The post office scandal hasn't dawned on a few folks yet.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but just seen on the Nottingham Forest Twitter….

Following yesterday’s match at Everton, NFFC issued a statement highlighting our concern at the perception of the PGMOL appointment of VAR for the game. This was an issue we raised with PGMOL prior to the fixture because of the fear of the side show that would ensue if anything went wrong with officiating in the game. That fear has materialised, as the correctness of three important decisions against the Club have been called into doubt.

This is not about individuals but rather how the integrity of the game is seen. We know match officials do not allow outside factors to influence their decision-making and that all referees are required to declare their ‘allegiances’ to PGMOL to avoid any perceived conflict or harm to the game’s reputation for integrity.

However, it is clear PGMOL must amend its rule on allegiances to account for contextual rivalries in the league table, not just local rivalries. This is currently not within the criteria but should be. Mere reliance on match officials to recuse themselves if contextual rivalries exist invites conjecture, as some have recused themselves where others have not.

NFFC stands by its request for greater transparency around PGMOL appointments to further protect the game’s reputation, as intended in PGMOL’s existing approach to allegiances.

Given the widespread and ongoing concerns, not merely of the fans, players and managers of this Club but of many others and the pundits too, over VAR decisions throughout this season any move which boosts confidence in the system should be properly considered.

It's on the other thread but the FA and EPL have announced they are investigating the club, NW and MC for the comments made...

The PL are saying that it's not allowed to "improperly question the integrity of match officials"... But that presumably means it is to do it properly...

Yes, it seems that way. If there's a massive house of cards collectively with the FA, EFL and PGMOL it might be enough to set it burning down...

(No cooked wheat and yeast produce was harmed in the making of this drama scene)

f*** off! Probably trying to see if they can somehow deduct us points for it :ROFLMAO:

But as I said... "improperly question"... If that tweet is improper than who knows what's allowed.

George Orwell is probably like "hey guys, hold my beer"

We've been calling out these inexplicably shit decisions all season via the normal means and nobody cared.

Whether the approach EM took yesterday sits right with you or not is ultimately immaterial - everyone is now talking about what happened.
Which could be great for the game itself in the long term.

Less so for us over the next 4 games though.

And here we go.

They'll find any excuse they can to stick it to us now. Folk there will be digging away at their end to find any minor discrepancy to "put us in our place"

Sigh.

Still, at least when we're relegated other clubs still in the Prem may benefit from the changes we set in motion. 😆

Think we've taken on too many fights on too many fronts here tbh. Bob hope of us getting any points back from the appeal, that's for sure.

Forest are going to court. There is no integrity left if there ever was

Have you all read the comments on Twitter to that Premier League statement? I have read maybe two that are negative towards us. Every other comment is saying well done to Forest. Whatever we have created has traction and I’m fully behind the club for it
If only those people had multi-billions behind them and made the rules 😆
