Norway isn't in the EU

Zinckernagel is Danish plus Norway is in the EEA/Schengen area so free movement would have applied.

The new WP rules make signing these types of players practically impossible.

Though let's be fair, we haven't really had much recent success with the foreign market have we? You can realistically count on your hands the number of decent signings we've made under Marinakis from that era and probably a similar amount under Fawaz.

You have to go back to the 90s to see when we actually made some decent foreign signings especially from Norway (Haaland, Bohinen) and even that stopped being as effective (Silenzi was shit, and Jerkan was a good player but totally unsuited to our system). And even then given that there was all the Rune Hauge stuff going around at that time and with the allegations Cloughie liked a bung (which never got as far as any actual proceedings) one wonders about those deals maybe.

When you look at our better signings most of them have come from this division or been promising from the one below - probably our best recent deal was using the Darlow and Lascelles cash on Antonio and Assombalonga when you account for their sales.

Yep, was surprised to read that. Apparently there is some sort of loophole for players whose contracts are expriring prior to the new work permit reg's coming in. Watford have moved quickly to their credit.

I used to think having club partnerships across Europe was a huge advantage until we got one.

Well, we won't have Simon, so he's been and gone before I find out who he is!

Things sure move fast in the world.

You have to have a 10 per cent stake in his agency otherwise he just screws you

Yeah I know that now, I remember being so excited and intrigued about Dias and Goncalves as well as Carvalho the feel good factor on those was off the charts. Then the empirical data came after watching them.....

I dont have any issue with using agents or having partnership with clubs what I dont like is our backrooms relationships with clubs and agents as they are just not very good...

Just think Watford got Vydra from Udinese and we get Guerrero its no comparison.
