Scott Twine [BUPA]

I believe we do like him a lot and believe he will thread through a lot of passes.

But more realistically for the summer if we sell Johnson.
It would be a shame if we only signed him after Johnson left, never the Twine shall meet

They're destined never to be entwined.

Ironic, as I hear I hear he's quite intelligent - wanted to study Theoretical Physics at Uni... you know, Quantum Entanglement and String Theory....

Nottingham Forest keeping tabs on midfielder who is lighting up League One
Youngster is understood to have caught the eye of the Reds with his sparkling form this season

Nottingham Forest are understood to be keeping tabs on in-form MK Dons attacking midfielder Scott Twine.

The 22-year-old has been putting in some sparkling displays for the League One side this season, topping the charts for the number of assists in the division.

And it is believed he has caught the eye of the Reds, who are understood to have been monitoring his progress.

Twine made the move to Stadium MK last summer, signing what was announced as a “long-term deal”, and has quickly made a big impact.

A regular in the starting XI, he has bagged 11 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions, including hitting a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw with Swindon Town in September.

He has also netted braces against Lincoln City and Cambridge United, and was named League One Player of the Month for November.

In league action, he has weighed in with eight assists - joint-top of the rankings with Fleetwood’s Paddy Lane.

MK Dons fought off competition to sign him last June. He made the move as a free agent, with Swindon Town due compensation after his contract had expired, due to Twine being under the age of 24.

He came up through the ranks at Swindon, spending time on loan at Chippenham Town, Waterford and Newport County.

A fine 2020/21 campaign saw him claim a combined 14 goals in 49 outings for Newport and Swindon in what was a breakthrough year for the youngster.

Asked about his best position, he told Sky Sports last month: "I think my best position is a No 10. I would've said striker two years ago but I'm also more of a No 8 now, where I can roam into space and try and hurt the opposition. I think that's where best suits me."

Forest have generally pursued a younger profile of target under CEO Dane Murphy and head coach Steve Cooper, while also being conscious of creating a blend of youth and experience.

So far in the January transfer window, they have brought in on-loan Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis, defender Steve Cook, on a free from Bournemouth, and full-back Richie Laryea in a $1m deal from MLS outfit Toronto.

Given the Post's track record, I'm not sure if they actually have genuine information for a change (given I haven't seen this anywhere else) or they just saw that there is a thread for him on here and decided to turn it into an article.

I hope its true though, he's a really good player from what I've seen and heard about him.

There may be some truth to this....

I knew the post would say we were interested in him after seeing this thread appear today. Hope it is true but not holding my breath.

Re: Scott Twine

Shouldn't be getting wrapped up in the numbers. Tieing league one defenses in knotts is one thing but lashing them in in the champ will take learning the ropes.

Is the NEP report from that lass who (lasso) trawls the threads of LTLF for news?

That’s true.

Give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves.
