Wouldn’t want to carry a 56lb bag of spuds back, that’s for sureNow, a peppered steak cob with cheese and onions from Barlow's is top tier. If Bates is in Skegby I wouldn't like to bloody walk it from t'hill!

You do understand the "why" hormones are added, right? Just making a bland observation without understanding the facts is myopic. I suggets you take a few short minutes to research the topic. It is not complex.Do the hormones add to the flavour of the meat?
I fully agree. Please Set up another thread if you want to discuss pastries etc-that’s fine. Or set u what’s app group, which is really simple. I’m with El Padre its wastes my time scrolling through pages and pages of non football or info that is not related to the thread. Fully respect the moderators and the job they do, and that it is impossible to review all content and actually it is up to those posting to consider if their post is appropriate or in the correct thread. It’s getting tedious and begins to devalue the site-I’m my humble opinion!!Seriously, the clique on here is worse than the thickies on Vital.
And I never thought I'd see the day
Shove your pastry talk up your collective arses, some of us have things to do and don't want to waste valuable time scrolling through drival.
In Canada, the level of synthetic hormone residues that can be left in beef is zero. There are no established limits for the levels of natural occurring hormones in beef as levels are in the same range for both treated and untreated cattle.Canada too.
The UK government has just this week, abandoned discussions on a post-Brexit trade deal with Canada, because the Canadians want to be allowed to import beef that’s been pumped up with hormones.

yes I fully understand how it functions-what I am questioning is recently whether that’s the right way? If the majority are happy-then that’s fine, but I have to question the pages and pages of nonsense which has no relation to the topic, when there is other threads to put this type of content on.Jesus H. I'm in two minds which way to go...Wait till the squirrel recipes start…

My understanding is that Health Canada sets maximum levels that can be found in food but not zero.In Canada, the level of synthetic hormone residues that can be left in beef is zero. Anyway, is this keeper coming in or not?
Hormones are added to promote the growth of muscle rather than fat givin a 'leaner' meat.Does this make the meat better? You do understand the "why" hormones are added, right? Just making a bland observation without understanding the facts is myopic. I suggets you take a few short minutes to research the topic. It is not complex.
Can they inject these hormones into chavs so that when they eat shit it turns into muscle not fat?Hormones are added to promote the growth of muscle rather than fat givin a 'leaner' meat.Does this make the meat better?
Well no and in fact IMHO makes the meat less flavourfull.
Over the last twenty years I guess I have spent a year or so in Alberta and the thing I noticed about the beef particularly roasting joints was the lack of 'marbling' those thin strands of fat that permiate through good joint (of beef not the other sort of joint) and that marbling of fat adds a lot flavour to the beef during cooking. So I found the beef a little bland.

And create a muscular chav army? Terrible idea! Can they inject these hormones into chavs so that when they eat shit it turns into muscle not fat?
If that’s lunch I want the one in the middle, the one on the right looks slim pickings and the option on the left appears to be a champion squirrel power lifter.I'm in two minds which way to go...

I guess you need to discriminate between natural and synthetic. I should point out that I took a quote from an article. Not my words. Apologies for not being clear on that.My understanding is that Health Canada sets maximum levels that can be found in food but not zero.
There is a lot of bland in Alberta. Lots of crazies too.Hormones are added to promote the growth of muscle rather than fat givin a 'leaner' meat.Does this make the meat better?

Perfectly put.The vast majority of members appreciate the surreal, nonsensical and whimsical way this forum functions. it has done this, for years.
We don’t take ourselves, football, or anything else, seriously. Well, mostly, anyway.
If you want seriousness, then maybe Vital Forest is more the thing, where you can get into an existential race about who „called it“ first on absolutely any subject you’d care to mention? There is - as I understand it - great kudos to be had, for being the person to have „called it“ first. We, however, couldn’t care less.
Or that other forum run by the chap who lives in Greece? They don’t like us very much though, as they accused us of hacking them (we didn’t).
Life is too short to be taken seriously; and there’s more to life than football.
I get what the forum is about etc. the surreal, nonsensical, whimsical is great if related to the thread. But if not related then perhaps best to pop it on the appropriate thread or create a new one?
Forum run by a Greek chap you say?The vast majority of members appreciate the surreal, nonsensical and whimsical way this forum functions. it has done this, for years.
