Feels like we've left it last minute and we're scrambling for options.
Palace aren't going to do us any favours here and why would they, they're in the shite with us.

I'm not sure Johnstone is honestly any better but I suppose if we did go down, he'd be a good Championship keeper.

Haven't heard anything about any keepers going elsewhere either so this might be SIX keepers at the club. :ROFLMAO:

Obviously as the current first choice we won't be looking to do anything with Turner until we have better through the door.

Vlach can only play for us (or clubs in a summer league, or whoever we signed him from) until next season, due to the 3 club rule.

There's been various stories linking Horvath with Cardiff or Blackburn over the past couple weeks (or Hull, but they've since signed a keeper). Cardiff especially, so wouldn't be surprised to see him go there.

Nothing being said about Hennessey at all.

Not sure about Shelvey, but he was subbed at HT in the U21s a few days ago so it's possible he's picked up an injury. If not, desperately needs a loan at whatever level he's sure to get a game.

Johnstone is much better than what we have. He's not flashy but very solid and would strengthen us significantly.

As for Kelleher from Liverpool, completely untested in a very similar way to Turner. Could easily turn out to be just as bad if he can't handle the pressure of being #1 choice.

Seems like the Cornet talk was play towards Johnstone then: if they accept our offer on him then apparently they'll use the funds to bring in Cornet.

Ironic that we were f***ing about with Henderson all summer and we end trying to sign the bloke he replaced.

Palace fans seem to think Johnstone is the better keeper. That Hendo is more about flashy saves for the camera but they'd prefer Johnstone in goal.

I still don't understand how Liverpool can be asking for 25m for Kelleher who has literally played 7 senior club games.

He's played more times as a full international than in senior club football, which is utterly mental.

I'd take either Henderson or Johnstone in a heartbeat - both better than we currently have and neither would want to be #2 anywhere. Whether palace would sell to a rival will depend how hard the player pushes imo.

Let's hope the upcoming euros do us a favour (and we can agree a sale price relegation clause as security for them or whatever if a potential deduction is a concern).

I don’t know much about Johnstone except that Palace fans are at best torn on whether Henderson is better than him, which makes him much better than what we have.

He comes accross to me as essentially a slightly paler replica of Turner as well.

Came through at United, lots of champ experience which transferred well to the Prem and a few England caps. He's decent if not spectacular- there are others I'd take but decent will do me now!

Also, unless we are bringing a couple in/making back up bids we may already have been rejected with the Sels news.

Yeah.

He strikes me as a solid but unspectacular option. Think we would be looking again within 18 months.

But I'll take solid right now.

I've never understood why people talk about 'making a save for the cameras'. No one ever says 'and he's scored that goal for the cameras'. Pretty disrespectful to 'keepers I'd say.
